ok i have bought these lights and had them professionaly installed and they just dont seem to be bright at all. at least on the ground. my foglights are more help. and one keeps going out but i can turn them off and right back on and it kicks on. anyone have these lights installed and have problems. the ebay store is racer innovation one of the tops. please help.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/12000...essories#rpdId

 

I have heard that the h4 bulbs have the same connector, but different pin associations. You need to re-pin two pins. If that has been done, there is a Phillips screw on top in the center to adjust the headlight down or up. Hope this helps

 

I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention i thought they were just the hid housings with h4 bulbs. So try adjusting that screw to see if you can aim them up more/down more. Sometimes its good to park towards a wall and adjust them like that.

 

ya there for the most part pointed down. could it be a bad ground? or because its not grounded to the battery? i am not good with electricity. lol

 

Do your bulbs have two bulbs stuck together in each bulb? Does it look like it has a small H3 type bulb with a white base next to the long thin glass bulb?

 

it is because they are cheap crap, 90% of the ebay housings and bulbs are junk...your better off with a set of silverstar replacment headlights

mine were HOOOOORRRIBLE, i could never see at night with them...went back to stock so i could actually drive at night

 

Oh, some kits come with H.I.D low beam and Xenon Charged High Beam. They have two bulbs in one and sometime people wire up the wrong bulb (xenon charged) so it doesn't look bright enough. If the H.I.d is lighting up and you just don't seem to get good light projection it might be because of the black housing on the conversion headlamps. Black housings do not reflect the light foward very well.

 

the housings seem to always be the problem, mine were super bright but the light was just going out all over the place instead of being focused towards the road

 

I am running an 8K system in the headlamps and a 3K system in the fog lamps. The conversions I used are chrome but they have the O.E style refector lens. They work really great. They system I use is O-NEX. I have had them on my truck for 3 years (no problems) and just recently put them on my camaro. Here are some pics. Maybe you should get different conversion housings. Those housings are pure junk. That is not a projector. Not to mention that those are 12k HID's. That's going to put out less light than even our stock halogens. If you're expecting to see very well then you need something closer to 5300k.

 

First off you have black housings!Black absorbs more light than any other color.Reflector lamps should be chrome, since chrome would reflect the most light.

That said even if you had bought chrome units.It would'nt be much better.Even with HID lights.Those lamps are not designed for illuminating the road.They're mostly for show.Also the more color you have , the less useable light there is.Thats three strikes so far.

Also if you are NOT using a HID harness/relay & just powering the ballast right off the existing wiring.You will not get enough current to your ballast.This will cause the HID lights to flicker/shut off &/or flash.I didnt bother reading the auction description if the kit comes with a harness, but it you are'nt using one, you should be.

Repeated flashing/flickering or any situation that causes your HIDs to act the way yours are.Will eventually damage the ballast & probably the HID lamp too.This is why you should alway use a harness W/RELAY & power the ballast off the batt.I dont care how many people say they are not using a harness/relay w/their HIDs.

There are a few posting regarding these ebay projectors lamps too & how shitty they perform.Pitty people keep buying them.They are not actual projectors....end rant.

 

I am using a harness and relay. Kit did come with one. They are junk housing and bulbs. Is here anyone that produces a housing (hid) lamp that I can plug in with the rest of this kit? Thanks forth help an advice and one of my bulbs.will turn off then I can turn it right back on.

 

Not really any to speak of & more important.Reflector housing are not designed/intended for HID lights.You would not be taking full advantage the HIDs this way.Plus you'll have hot spots(glare).Maybe the housings pictured in the red camaro above.They seem DOT spec, but even then.......

......As good as some will tell you how much better their lights are with HIDs (over OEM) & a reflector style housing.It would be better still with a dedicated HID projector.There is a H4 projector (hella, i think) produced, but even then, its not a purpose built HID projector.H4 is a incandescent bulb, H4 HIDs are merely adapted to fit a housing that originally came w/an H4 bulb.

Any HID lamp that is NOT either D1S or D2S.Is just an aftermarket HID lamp modified to fit incandescent style housings.OEM systems use D1S, some use D2S & these systems all use projectors not reflector housings.

As for color, typically OEMs use 4300k lamps.Reason being is they offer the most useable(white) light.All other kelvin rated lamps are just aftermarket.Its easier to see things/read signs with a white light, than with a blue/purple/ light.

Id check your harness/connectors or even the HID lamp itself for the on/off issue.Have you tried swapping the lamps over to see if the problem stays on the same side or moves over with the lamp?

I've seen another car with the ones in the link just above, and he said they were good and DOT approved. I find it hard to pay $1000+ for some headlights though. I don't like the way they look because the front of the glass on the projectors sticks out much farther than the original style of light. The name you might look for is sinister or sinisterz. Pretty sure he's on here if not on fbody.com

 

Ive seen those as well on the forum.Id like them better if i knew what kind of projector that is, but never for that price.Too much money.You could retrofit projectors for less than half that price.

Im with fast82.I dont like how that lense is bulging out.Thats done cause the projector is mounted way forward, but it looks funny.
