I got this idea today when I took my mom's 2009 G6 GT for a spin to the grocery store. Has anyone taken one of these steering wheels: and put it in a 3rd gen T/A? I love the feel of this wheel. Just sucks its in such a shitty car. But anyways. If someone has throw up some pics.

 

I can't say for 100% sure, but MANY of GM's cars use the same spline on the steering wheels; If I had to guess, I'd say it will probably fit.

The probably for me with newer wheels is the stupid radio controls on them - I don't want buttons on my steering wheel that don't do anything in my car.

 

Well the base g6 came with a plain black one without buttons.

 

Leather covered, or just plastic?

 

Personally, when I have the funds, I want to go with one of grants new club sport wheels.

 

Leather covered. and that grant actually looks a lot like the g6's wheel just with a grant emblem and not a pontiac emblem

 

emblems are interchangable, and yes, its modern, but generic at the same time, and alot cheaper im sure.

 

Like I said I like the g6 wheel and I think it came in several modern pontiacs. Prolly all their small cars. Gotta think you could pull one out of a junkyard super cheap

 

The Saturn Aura has the same wheel.... I think the new Malibus is the same in design but they all have controls for the DIC and cruise. But why would you want such a large diameter steering wheel?

 

a junkyard model would probably have an deployed airbag one would think.

 

Pretty much every GM car can be optioned with that wheel from the cobalt to the corvette. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a nobutton version for a decent amount.

I know this post is old but it doesn't fit, god knows why but the g6 wheel bore is 1-2 mm smaller than the steering column shaft. They have the same number of splines so I am thinking about filling each spline to get it to fit PITA. I am still contemplating a solution.
