Well, depends on what you want painted. If you want it all red, tape off the black part near the license plate. You wanna wet sand it a little with a high grit paint so the paint has something to stick to. I'm not sure how to do the checkered style lights (I did my 85 lights) but it shouldnt be too hard. The key is light coats and PATIENTS!!!!

Jiffy, where did you get the paint?
I've been wanting to do this for a while now and I think it might be my cheapest mod .
What grit sand paper would you use?

I went to a hobby store, they sell lots of model airplanes and cars, I asked for candy apple red transparent paint. $3.65
Im not sure if I want to sand it at all, I read in old posts that if, I really screw it up I can use Nail Polish remover and take off all that I sprayed on. The downside is that I would have to use a glossy clear to get the shine back. Im going to try and do it during autoshop this week. I will post my results

Yeah, I was the first person to do this, do a search, and you'll find my post with pictures and all.

All ya gotta do is tape it all off and paint the whole tail light asmebly a couple of coats, it will take at least two. And then I suggest some super fine grit paper and lighty go over it then take some clear coat and spray over the lights a few dozen times. Then take a lacor finish and rub it in real good so you give it a good shiney plastic look. It will look awesome. I have some updated photos of mine I need to get. I also replaced my bulbs with super bright reds. But thats up to you.
