What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
Any year or model from 82-92 Camaro or Firebird. I would have to go with a Red 87 IROC-Z, the year i was born, i love these beautiful cars and plan on owning an 87Z soon. Yours?

well pretty much any 86 up. But I'd have to say a 91-92z28 with the hi rise wing on the back with a 350 TPI. Any color really. But white with stripes is my favorite

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
my choice would be the 1982 pace car edition, tied with the 87 yellow iroc z-28. both original and classic. as for the firebird, i would say a 1985 transam, red over silver with the bird and graphics. (i had one just like it and miss it.)

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
I'm partial to 89, and just not because I own one.... I like the classic interior of the 82-89, without being saddled by the 85MPH speedometer of the mid 80's. I like the fact that the 89's also have the full ground effects for even the base models, with 15" wheels. 88's are ok too, as long as they don't have the shorty spoiler.
I don't have anything against the exterior of the 91-92 models, other than I'm not wild about the stock wheels those years.
Being very tall, I also am not too happy with the position of the third brake light in the later years.

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
Guess I'm partial to 91/92 Camaro. I like the aero ground effects. The yellow lettering on dash I could do without - makes it a challenge to get nice window switches and such. I however am NOT fond of the third brake light - it's always in my field of vision in the rear view. Does that car have blue bubbles on top? Who would know, all I see is that third brake light! My 1990 had the spoiler third brake light - liked it alot better. Although for polishing I'd rather do a set of the 15in wheels or single line IROC wheels, I like the 16's (1in makes alot of difference in the look in the well).
Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
For Camaro I Thnk a Nice Clean Early SC looks Great - No Ground Effects, No Rear Spolier, But must be a T-Top
Firebird - Have to go with a 82/83 Trans Am. Again like the No Ground Effect look, and My first Car was a Blk/Blk 83 T/A.

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
Personally I would say a red 1991 or 1992 Z28 with a 5.0 litre, 5 speed and T-Tops. To me you get a relatively tight body, top horsepower for the 5.0 litre and a manual transmission plus I love the aero ground effects and high rise spoiler...There were very few sold compared to the other years--will help resale! Overall just a great looking car!!
Second choice would be the 1987-1990 IROCS with 5.7 litre and T-Tops.

91-92 Camaro, RS body work. Prefer the ground effects of 91-92, but don't like the high rise Z28 spoiler or the flippers on the hood.

Well, I would have to say my favorite is the 87 IROC in red. One of which I've owned for 13 years. With the optimization work Ive performed, it is now just about my perfect car and Ill have it for the rest of my life. My second favorite would be somewhere between the 82 Trans Am in red with Cross Fire Injection(that was my first 3rd gen and I loved that car), and the 91 Trans Am(the first stock body car to break 300MPH).

My favorite would be the 1983 Z28 coupe with L69 engine and 5 speed manual transmission.
There are just a few minor optical details that make me choose the earlier Camaros over a later model years.

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
Order of years for me.
#1. 91-92
#2. 82-84
#3. 85-90
Beyond that, doesn't really matter to me as long as the car looks stock to its year.
For firebird it goes like this:
#1. 85-90
#2. 82-84
#3. 91-92
#1. 91-92

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
well if i could have any year and model i would have a 1992 firebird Firehawk red with t tops and the full track options but i still prefer the 82-83 style front bumper i just think that bumper style looks sharp on them so i am kinda tore there
as for camaros i like a 85 iroc-z mainly because thats the first third gen i ever looked at and would have bought if it hadn't sold before i got back with the money

Appearance wise, the 82-84 Sport Coupe. I also like the 84 Z28(305HO, 5spd, 3.73) So what am I doing with my own car? 84 z28 with sport coupe bumper and of course no gfx.

Re: What is your faviorte model year Thirdgen camaro
this thread is funny... to the untrained eye the 82-92 camaros were virtually unchanged, but it's funny how each of us can pick out the smallest styling cues and still come up with favorite years and models
it's also funny to me how dramatic the changes in the firebird line was year to year, but the camaros stayed more or less the same

My favorite is the 85-87 Iroc, specifically the 1987... third brake light in the spoiler, best looking wheels and a 305TPI/5 speed and 350 TPI was available. In yellow or blue...

I like the 90 IROC, new interior design but the classic IROC look. Here's my preferred.
Choice 1- 90 IROC Convertible Electric Blue 5-speed.
Choice 2- 84 H.O. 5-speed Black with Gold stripes.
Choice 3- 87 IROC 350 hard top Black with Gold decals.

Immediately after I figure out a way to bend space and time, I'm gonna go back to 1989 and place an order for a Loaded 1990 IROC-Z, LB9/M5/G92 Hardtop, White-over-red interior.
You'll see.

91-92 Z28/RS Clone made from an IROC. Like things from 91-92 style but I would have to have an IROC just because I like the sound of that name.
