hey fellers! getting ready to sand her down and paint, having creative block.

i plan on doing black with gold trim, but i dont want to do the bottom skirts gold. does anyone out there have the door panel strips painted different than the body? not too sure if those door bumpers would look tacky gold.

i also have a good size crack in my front bumper from the previous owner. its worn a little over time, and not too sure if bondo is my best bet on that repair. what should i use for that?

and does anyone out there have just the louvers painted?

 

I think having just the door bumpers painted gold would look tacky. I'm not a big fan of them to begin with...so the more you can do to hide them the better.

For the bumper, 3m makes an epoxy for this. Other companies probably do too, but 3m is the one I've used before.

 

Leave the gold where it's supposed to be, the wheels and emblems.
