New Grill

I've been wanting a new grill for my 87, so I thought I'd try my local Chevrolet dealer. Guess what? They had a brand new still in the box Bowtie grill for $75.00.
Here is the before and after pic. Nevermind the bugs on front of the car in the before pic. The weather has been nice enough to drive the car around some finally.

Park lights

Hey there rdsiler that new grill looks great! Your front markers/parking lights are getting that hazed over look. I just picked up a replacement pair from 1A auto. You could probably buff those out using a rubbing compound but these new ones from 1A look beautiful, well judge for yourself.

Here, below is a pair from 1A auto ....

Below is a picture of ronusmcmma's camaro with a set of these installed, it just cleans the front end up so much. Hope he doesn't mind me using his picture, but it is a really nice pic and sure does show off those lights from 1A auto.

Anyhoo cars looking good man. (:

Re: Park lights

I guess it's ok to steal my own thread. I was actually looking to do some light work to the car. It's funny you brought it up as I was looking at a light kit on ebay.

I know there are people out there not simply do not like these lights, but I do. What do you think the smoked marker and turn signals would look like onthedownlow?

Re: Park lights

Well I guess it's a really a matter of opinion and taste. I mean I like the original look as opposed to the euro look but I have to say those smoked markers look deadly. I think they look pretty damn good!! I just wish they were a darker tint. There is always the option of buying some VHT nightshades and blackout your existing markers etc. Like I said it really is a matter of taste and your car is frickin sweet so I can tell you have an idea for what looks good and clean.

Re: New Grill

Nice. I got the clear eBay parking lights. Fit great. They seal good, as long as the rubber on your light socket is good. The headlights are questionable. My roommate got the cheap ones and the refractors inside are flimsy and shake with the car running, and the city light holes don't work out with the camaros. The kit you linked is the most expensive and complete kit on there, maybe a quality difference there. I was going to buy from them for myself actually, but did the e36 BMW lights instead. Pretty sure you will be cutting your headlight retainers for clearance if you go to those h4 bulb style headlights fyi

Re: New Grill

Not a fan of the aftermarket lights, but I will second what was said about new parking lenses--it's probably the single most significant appearance upgrade you can make to the front of the car. It was absolutely night and day when I replaced mine with new ones I got at the dealer a few years ago.

Re: New Grill

I do like the headlights myself. I respect that some people don't. However I do not want to cut on my headlight housings or anything else for that matter. There is another thread on here and no one has had to do any modifications other than wiring. Here is the thread...

We have brand new original GM pieces available. Of course, they are a little more expensive than the aftermarket pieces but the quality is better. Here's link to them on our site.
