Cowl Hood w/ racing stripes help
Ok so i'm gonna have my 85 camaro repainted white and then put red racing stripes on it (to match the red interior) My dilemma is I don't know how I want my stripes. So I wanted to see if anyone had pics of 3rd gens with a Cowl hood and racing stripes. I don't know if I want bottom to bottom straight edges or stripes like on the 5th gens where they're rounded off with the pin stripe border.
PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Re: Cowl Hood w/ racing stripes help
Matter of personal taste.
I guess it will be unavoidable not insulting anyone, but please accept this as my personal opinion.
I find bottom to bottom racing stripes on a street camaro somewhat tacky.
The heritage stripe package would look great in red on a white car. It was available, so that´s somewhat of a plus in the "retain original looks" department.
It´s difficult to pull that off with a cowl hood however.
So, if you´re going to stick with the cowl hood, I´d choose straight stripes, ending on the front of the hood (like the heritage package) with rounded edges and pinstripe. On the rear end, pull them all the way over the spoiler and end there without rounded edges.

I agree that bottom to bottom aren't a great look. The heritage stripes are a good choice and any painter should be able to do it with a cowl. Here is mine with the Sunoco cowl hood plus heritage stripes.
