Want some opinions on valve covers.

I wanted to get some opinions/info on some valve covers that would look cool with my new motor (Ram Jet, Fast burn heads, LT4 hot cam, etc.) The fast burn heads have holes for both center bolt and perimeter bolt valve covers. Whatever I decide on has to be able to clear the roller rockers. Any opinions on what would look cool? Oh yeah, will some of the tall valve covers interfere with the alternator?

17 inch ROH "ZS" wheels. 17x8.5(front) and 17x9.5 (rear). Firestone Firehawk SZ50s. 245/45/zr17s and 275/40/zr17s. T56

On the way... Radar Blue 89 Formula, T56, Ram Jet 430, Ram Air, 17inch ROHs.

I'm running standard height perimeter bolt Wyesco Aluminum valve covers & the only clearance problem I had was shorting the power lead stud on the back of the alternator. It hit the front of the valve cover so I shortened it by about 1/4" or so. Other than that you should be good to go. I really like the cast aluminum GM ones with the stamped CHEVROLET on them, even though they're about $200, they're going on my winter build-up.

I don't know if they'll clear the rockers but they look cool.

They're on Ebay right now.
---------------------------------------------
These look great with the Ramjet, gives it a classic look, if you don't mind the Corvette script.

I guess most people wouldn't get the fact that the ramjet looks similar to the early Vette FI setup.

Can you tell I go for the "classic" look?

Yeah, I like those GMPP aluminum valve covers too. $200 is a bit pricey, but they are awesome.

There's some carbon-fiber covers in Classic Industries I would love to get my hands on, but I can't justify paying $500+ for a set of valve covers. But they do look great. Phew...

Second place would be those GMPerformance Parts covers.

If you go to the Jim Pace Performance Parts website, and look at the ZZ430, it has a badass set of valve covers on it, but it's the only part number they *don't* give you. www.paceparts.com

yeah, the raised "CHEVROLET" VCs from the GMPP catalog for sure...you paint them, then grind the paint off the lettering, oh man it looks awesome.

I like them clearcoated so they keep that nice cast aluminum finish.

I don't think they make it for centerbolt heads, but you can use an adapter.

I don't know about those in particular, but the last time I saw a set of GMPP valve covers, they came with a set of centerbolt adapters. Those that you're looking at might, too. Wouldn't hurt to ask the sales rep.

Those last ones are nice. I'd get them or the composite LT1/LT4 centerbolt ones. They look hi-tech and would go well with the ram-jet.

I bought them about a year ago of some guy on ebay for 40 bucks. I think that they were sold back in the 80's. I have since painted them with krinkle paint and have sanded the vanes and trans am logo.

Classic Industries has them with "Pontiac" instead of "Chevrolet" The price is sort of outragous from them, but you should be able to find them somewhere else. Jegs is selling the "Chevrolet" covers for about 189 or 199.00
