Opinions on Painting Strut Tower Caps

Not sure if thats what theyre called. But my car is triple black. New motor is Chevy red and black. The strut tower caps look a little Dull so i was thinking about painting the top cap part the same Chevy red as the rest of the motor.

Re: Opinions on Painting Strut Tower Caps

The red caps would tie in with your red block & wire loom. How about puling the whole strut mount off & repainting it red as well?

Re: Opinions on Painting Strut Tower Caps

IMO, they (caps or entire mount) should only be painted if it helps hide them from site. They are not exactly anything appealing to look at or, to have attention drawn to.

Re: Opinions on Painting Strut Tower Caps

Don't paint 'em. They should be black. There are certain parts that regardless of what color your car is, should aways remain black. Small little plastic clips, wire ties, wire looms, hoses (unless braided is necessary), little brackets, etc. etc. I mean ultimately it's your car of course, but.....

The plastic caps just pop off. The strut mounts are the 3 nuts you see for the alignment & the 1 big nut holding the strut itself.

since they're plastic, stick with a plastic dye (like krylon fusion). sticks much better, less chance of runs (from personal experience and mistakes), and much less likely to chip if you have to pull them off for strut replacement
