Well since it comes on a T.A. what do you think? I think it looks good but is it right?

Well If yer referring to the LSI style ram air hood...I think it does matches the lines of a third gen at all. The forth gens are very round and bulgy and third gens have more square flat lines.

I dont think there's anything wrong with putting a ram air hood on a firebird. I think they look great, and add some style.

Yeah that the only thing that holds me back on it. If it went straight back to the window that would be cool.

Pro Ams were aftermarket body kits kinda for firebirds. I have seen 1 3rd gen pro am but most were 4th gens they were 3.4 v6's with really good looking side skirts but a fake ram air hood. Looked fast as well you know but were slow as dirt.

I saw a thirdgen one before, almost bought it. The one i saw had the trans am gfx but a hood that looked like the ram air but no openings in the front, a cowl but with the sam look as the back of it. The one i saw was also a 305.

Well, when I went to school at Wyoming Tech, a friend of mine had a Pro-Am, 383 with a 125hp shot of NOS on it. It umm.. was fast. Here is a shorta crappy scan of it I took of my 82 Z28 next to it out my room window.

Some say that the Ram Air II hood (larger nostrils) look best on 1982 to 90 Firebirds, and the ASCD Ram Air hood (smaller nostrils) look better on the 91 and 92 style. I can decide for sure because I've never seen the Ram Air II hood on a 91/92 style Firebird. I can't even find a picture. If you search for Ram Air hood or something like that I'm sure you'll get links to lots of pictures. (To all of them except the one I'm looking for, lol.)

Now there's the kind of appearance mods I like to see! It looks great, stays with the original theme and style, and looks like OEM quality as far as fit and finish are concerned (as far as you can tell from a photo). There was a thread that got locked in which the originator asked why everybody looks down on appearance mods. My opinion on that subject is that as long as the mod stays within the style of the basic body shape, and meets or exceeds OEM quality, go for it. This firebird is a perfect example of what I mean.

eye candy, yeah, it's finished. and it works great. not sure when i'll have the time to fabricate any more for people.. but just drop me a line and i'll get in touch with you... nothing quite like smoking a new ws6, pulling over to talk to him.. and then having him go... 'yeah, but it isn't functional...' then making him eat those words
Oh, and mirsiro.. about it staying with the original theme and style, and looking OEM for it to be a good mod. umm. whats the point in calling it a mod then.. last time I checked mod meant changing, and as far as I can tell, my car is still a GTA.. but never know, it may morph into a sunfire over night.. better watch out...

I personally (Not bashing anyone's cars) don't like the Ram Air II's. I just think there to much nostriol for our thirdgens. They just seem out of place, don't ask me why, its just something about me I guess that thinks that. I put the Ram Air hood from ASCD on my car and I think its perfect.

The only time it is wrong to change the looks of your car is if YOU dont like it.

If you like it, do it.

Personally, I like the way they look.

This is the best one to put on a 85-90 T/A,

This one just doesn't look right,

And this would be a sweet addition to the front end,
