Saw a thread on black paint. I wanna see red to get some ideas for mine here is my car: definately needin some help

 

Mine is an 88 iroc, it was repainted once before I bought it. I only spent about 20 hours puffing, polishing, and waxing it haha, but it looks pretty good

 

I like the puffing! that is one really nice stock looking IROC, great job on getting her cleaned up

 

My dad had an 87 just like yours that he painted. That was a nice car. Wish he still had it. Your car reminds me of it. But awesome car. Great job on cleanin it, looks great

I just got my Iroc back not too long ago. Its a dark red metallic with black accents.

if your looking for what brand to use i would go with DuPonts highest grade stuff. I believe its called ChromaPremier?

 

Mine is Crimson Perl froma 02 Caddy Deville. It's a tri-coat so its not cheap, but really bright and has alot of depth. Here is a pic from last year after washing it. Not even waxed.

 

She's got a few dings in her, but not bad after being repainted 20 years ago.

I agree I love that, and red is one of my least favorite colors on cars

 

Garage paint by a guy I work with. Factory red, and yes I know the decal is in the wrong spot. The guy that did it had one on before I caught him.

1986, with 77k miles. This is a project my son and I did for his first car when he turns 16 on 10-14-11.

 

Custom Rally Red B/C with red pearl additive using the best PPG has to offer.

 

Bright red in 86 was 81U, not 74U. 74 is Dark Red Metallic. Also, Chevrolet referred to it as Bright Red, not Victory Red. Just an FYI

 

mine is ppg red and black.

 

painted a dodge flame red about 4 years ago. base-clear with massive amouts of color sanding. then some stripes i designed and applied too










disregard the nasty old wheels, currently saving up $ for some nice rims

 

hope i dont make myself look stoooopid lol. but a guy from another site MiFbody has a gorgeous car just like yours, but iirc his handles are shaved i wanna say his name is scott or todd. absolutely beautiful car. as is yours. can you post a side shot please. id love to see how those wheels look with that paint

 

damn this makes me wanna go home say to hell with putting the motor back together and just sand and buff my car till she looks like a few on here..... SO BEAUTIFUL i HATE THE COLOR RED!!!! but for some reason a red camaro with a nice set of shiny wheels lowered on them looks SEXY!

I really like the Tri-coat system until you have to try and color match it, it is based like a Kandy color. They look great and add a great amount of depth, your car is really sharp.
