i dont know...for some reason it doesnt look right on your car...... maybe its the color and base wing thats throwing it off... i got the same louvers on my gta.. i think it makes the car look more badass... also it makes it look more old school and eighties... considering my car was made in 88 it fits that era i guess.... i think it looks better on certain color cars

Re: Louvers on '92 Firebird. Yes or no? Lots of pictures.

the 91-92's are just to curvy for that style louver, they look better on the squarer noses and raers and such, i dont think its the wing if anything the wing looks almost like it gives the louvers more emphasis, but in comparison to fast88gtas they just dont work on your year

I think it looks great. People who chose to drive the 80's style birds will have bias of their own, so don't worry. I had them on my 88', but I really still like your set up! Nice car

to the OP i think you need a aero wing to pull it off... also all my windows are tinted 20 percent so it make the louvers look better to me in person

Looks ok, too bad its for an earlier year third gen w/o a window mounted tail light, i have a set on my 92 z28 with the opening for the third brake light. As for using the whale tail, you have to modify the spoiler since ut also attaches to the hatch like the louvers do.

Yeah I noticed that. lol

I appreciate the honesty guys, but I really do like them. I dunno if it's because it's just something new or whatever. And you guessed right. They're Cragars. And a buddy of mine just let me have them. They were sitting down in his basement forever.

I have different rims than you however. Mine are the gold lace rims that are not GTA style. I was thinking about buying a notchback for my car...I think it would look cool AND some black rims with a chrome lip.

That'd be pretty sweet. I've been wanting these rims for a while now: http://www.hubcap-tire-wheel.com/ima...heels-Rims.jpg

And I also snapped a couple pics today of the car after a wash.

I think it looks more sharp with the TA wing but I still like it as is. I'd say keep it.

I like louvers. Would i put them on my car? No. But that does not mean i hate them. Very old school solution to block ou sun and add appearance to your gm pony car. I have to have that streamline you get with the plain glass hatch. Had louvers on my 87 i had 10 years ago. Loved them back then.

Re: Louvers on '92 Firebird. Yes or no? Lots of pictures.

The difference between the factory louvers and the Cragar or Kobell louvers is the overall shape. The factory louvers are low profile and follow the body tighter. The cragar set sits high on the window and above the roof line making them look awkward. Compare the looks of the original poster and the black trans am with the 86 louvers. You'll see what I'm referring to.

Those louvers rock!

That's exactly the looks I was looking for my '88 GTA when it gets done.

Sent you a PM.

Looking to the rear you can see everything without much hindrance because you'll be looking at the flat sides of the louver and through the paces between the panels.
It's darker overall and actually a really nice view.

Re: Louvers on '92 Firebird. Yes or no? Lots of pictures.

I've got another question guys..

I made my own topic about it but now I see why I'm not getting any answer.. There's like A LOT of topics about louvers. I've spent lots of hours looking but I REALLY can't find an answer on my question.

I've got a '91 firebird whale tail spoiler on my '88 camaro and I'm looking for louvers.
No wipers, no third brakelight.

Problem is, I don't know what louvers will fit due to the whale tail spoiler.
I can't find any pictures or topics about louvers together with a '91-'92 whale tail spoiler.

If someone could please help me.... I would REALLY appreciate that! A LOT!

Thanks Tylercamaro!

I do have a picture of the mentioned spoiler and my dilemma. It's for the blue camaro. As you can see it has a '91 whale tail* firebird spoiler (like the red 91 firebird in the picture).
I think they were only available in '91 and '92 as the whale tail changed with the 4th gen.

* I'm not sure if it's called the whale tail spoiler though..

Dilemma
Spoiler comes close to rear window and I'm not sure if a louver would fit.
I can't find any pictures of firebirds with this spoiler and louvers.

Those spoilers came on 91/92 Formulas & GTAs only. You will have to mod the wing to make any spoiler fit with that type spoiler you have.

i dont think the sides are more the issue i think its the back of the wing that comes too far forward that wont alloiw louvers to fit.

Re: Louvers on '92 Firebird. Yes or no? Lots of pictures.

Yea that's where I'm worried about..
The sides are somewhat the same as my grey GTA. But it comes very far forward close to the window. In the middle it measures 4 cm (1.6 inch) from my window to the wing.

Were louvers an option on the 91/92 Formula/GTA? Because I can't seem to find it in the RPO's..
