Re: NAME YOUR BEST VANITY PLATES
I missed out on it because I was waiting for a paycheck.
But I would have had NGRY BRD for my GTA. My nephew loved it, he's 6. He didn't get that I was referring to the modified LT1 under the hood, but I liked that it could be both.
I have another one I'm looking at getting, but don't want to post it for fear of it being taken.
PS, its not a variation on NGRY BRD. It is a literary reference though. Sadly, of the few people I've told it too, none have gotten the reference despite it being a classic everyone knows the name of. So its fairly safe.

Re: NAME YOUR BEST VANITY PLATES
When I had my 87 new & was living up in the Boston area there was a 5.0 LX Mustang that was running around the area with a plate that said RACE ME - so I did, every time I saw him.
By all accounts and according to every magazine article of the time, he should have beat me - but he never did. My car was completely dead stock and I have no idea if his was or not but he eventually stopped racing me and would turn the corner every time I pulled up behind or next to him.

Re: NAME YOUR BEST VANITY PLATES
Years ago when I lived in California, I went to LA quite often. On one trip to the beach I noticed a plate that I will never forget. It wasn't on a third gen, but on a white Volkswagen GTI Cabriolet. There was a very attractive typical California blonde driving it.
I noticed her tag...EMTAEHO. I said well she must be a EMT or something. I had passed her on the 405 and she fell behind me. I looked in my mirror....it read....OHEATME.
Never forget that!

state of Texas denied my license plate of 0FXGVN so I went with L98GTA. At least I won't get pulled over as much.

Re: NAME YOUR BEST VANITY PLATES
Finally got mine. Kinda boring, but amazed that it was available. "91ZEE28". NJ has a regulation that you need to have at least 3 letters in the plate (unless it is a "QQ" plate). Not my first option, but it was available.

Well here ya go. Mine is NOOFFNS.
I post only because I don't speed, but I get up to the speed limit pretty quick without a burnout and passing isn't illegal is it?
Here in NC, a plate is only required at the rear.

I have a'93 Caprice wagon that was formerly one of Kicker's demo cars in the mid 90's. When it was being built for the SEMA show, the installers at Kicker realized it's as big as a whale.
Through four owners and four states, the only license plate on it has been SHAMMOO.

The Top 10 signs that your custom license plate sucks
1. It contains any of the words U, SUCK, LOSE, KILLER, or RACE
2. It has your own name in it
3. It has the name of a different car in it
4. The same plate has been used in all 50 states.
5. It spells out an animal noise
6. It requires an explanation to be understood or is misinterpreted more than 30% of the time
7. It greatly appeals to a 6 year old
8. It states an obvious fact about your car
9. It has the word LUV, LOVE, or references your pets in any way
10. Your first thought was, "I can't believe this plate is still available!!!"

Re: NAME YOUR BEST VANITY PLATES
So glad there are people on this site just waiting to kmock people down a couple notches. Plates just arrived today & obviously not that exciting for you nor creative but then agian how many 350-GTA convertibles do you see around? Most people think they were all 305s. So sorry my plates don't meet expectations however they met mine & THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS to me. BFD.

This thread has 16 years of lousy ideas in it and my inspiration didn't come from you
Using the custom plates to talk to you was my attempt to lighten you up with a little humor. I still can't believe you missed your opportunity to say,

I think custom plates are kinda silly and red necky. ...I have one that says 350 TPI, but since I now have a 383, I have to get a new one. Not 383 TPI though. LOL.....I still think they're corny. ...I'm a hypocrite.
