First off, I am by no means a Camaro guy. I own an 83 TA and love firebirds, but many of you have asked about factory appearance packages, like the one I put together for all the 3rd gen TA's. So after sorting through almost all 463 Reader's Rides photos I have compiled what I believe is an accurate representation of the Camaro differences. If I am wrong, just tell me and I'll fix it. Just note. I by no means try to represent which year/models had black headlight buckets, or which base models Could have had spoilers, or striping differences, or decal placement. There are just too many combinations and I do have a life. Combine the photos with the text in "TECH DATA" section and you should find the info you have always wanted. By next week, I'll have the tail light differences for my Camaro cousins.

Pretty good. Everything I see looks correct, but all third gens came with black hood buckets, but it common practice to make them match the rest of the car.

Looks pretty good, but in the one pic it says that the lip spoiler increased in size, but it didnt, one thing you could also post would be that 86 had the brake light on the top of the hatch on the outside, 87-89 its in the lip spoiler and 90-92 its inside the hatch glass at the top.also the RS model debuted in 88(and a few 87`s in california i think)and it had the smaller spoiler similiar to the 91-92 z28 spoiler only shorter and it only went accross the hatch not all the way to the quarters.

Ill look later and see if i can think of anything else

and the hood louvers in 83 were functional on some z28's b/c of the cross fire injection.they stopped it b/c when u let into the gas the louvers would open up but if it was raining then it would suck rain right into the engine..so they stopped that...but u did a good job

I believe that the smaller spoiler that you are speaking of was only on the Sport Coupes in 88,
Also, the 3-piece spoiler was shortened for the RS's. The IROC's had a larger one.... I am pretty sure... They had a steeper angle to them.
The Third brake light was still in the spoiler in 1990. It moved up to the inside rear glass in 1991.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong.....

you were right for the most part. though, the '88 sc spoiler (I have one) wasn't on all '88 sport coupes. though it was on most. everyone either calls it a smaller version of the 91-92 "F40" style wing or firebird style, but it's a totally different design on it's own.

and the bigger 3-piece was on '87 to '90 models. it had to be bigger for the third brake light. so the smaller 3-piece was on 82-86 and 91-92
