Hey i was wondering if any of you guys could tell me where i can buy a set of blackouts for an 89 Formula for the front you know the ones that make a smooth transition between the bumper and hood with the lights down. Thanks guys.

I think you just want the 91-92 front bumper, so they sit flush. Noone makes front blackouts of Firebirds. Period. BTW, there is no 350 TBI.

umm are you sure gts makes those? (i think thats who makes the camaro ones)...ive never seen one...but if thats just the area you want to fill yeah a 91-92 bumper fills it nicely..and redbird_400 i was just trying to show the area i thought he wanted to fill. sorry for the confusition

OK first of all i put the 350 in my car so there is such a thing as a 350 tbi in my life. Second gts does make them i think atleast because ive seen a trans am with them and no i dont want the 91 or 92 bumper cover i dont like how it looks im not knocking ne ones car though.

 

GTS doesn't make them. They are custom. Knight Rider has them. They are easy to make, go to Home Depot, or OSH, or any hardware store that sells lexan, and use some 90* metal brackets. Put one bracket on each side of the opening, and make sure when you cut the lexan, that the head light can still go up and down. You can get that black out spray and paint the back side.

Ok to answer ALL your questions..GTS makes exactely what he is talking about.You might need to get in contact with GTS to find out IF they still make them or not.Believe it or not i saw a set on ebay a few days ago.Maybe you can search for the ended auction ad and possibly ask the dude where he got them and once again they really do exist!!

No prob 89 4Mula,I knew exactely what you was talking about.I have seen a couple of them installed on the Firebirds here around my town,really seem to clean up the front end.Just good luck if you decide to bid on the covers though,you might have a few other fellas on here that finally see that the item you was talking about really exists and try to pick them up for themselves! GTS doesn't list them on their website.

 

I found a pic. They are on an '84 Supercharged Firebird TA. Look on ebay...and you will see what I am talking about. If I get time I will post the pics up here. I think it looks great...but they appear to be custom made to me. I think I am going to email him and find out where he got them...or how he made them.
