Attention lacquer experts
I will be re painting my car soon, and I want to do a better job next time. Last time it was done by my dad and I in my driveway. the main problem is, we only used 2 quarts of paint, which turned out too thin, and it is chipping off in some areas. How much paint should i use next time? Also, is it worth it to paint a couple coats, then colorsand, then add a couple more, and so on? And I need to know is there is an additive or something to add to the mixture for painting on rubber bumpers, because the paint on there now has very small hairline cracks in it.

you r goin to need at least a gallon of paint becuz when we painted my z we used almost the entire gallon and my friend only put like 2 coats of black on and then 4 coats of clear. and with the bumpers he used like a 2 sated ppg primer its blue in color i dunno if it is the flex one but he used it on the entire bumper front and back, so i guess thats what he used. hope that helps some. later
