Gets some polishing or rubbing compound from you local auto parts store, rub on , let dry , rub off. I got some for 2 bucks at pep boys and it worked great on the parts of my rim that are not damaged for good.

Lots of sanding, lots of sanding...btw, lots of sanding.
Start with 120 (i used 80 to speed it up) and sand until all lines/cast is off. Once it's smooth and scratched all up, move to 180, do that until all the 80/120 scratches turn into 180 scratches. Do the same with 240 over 180. Then 320 of 240, followed by 400, 600 dry and wet sand it, hit with 800 (wet only from now on), 1000, 1500, 2000. Use mothers or other polish.
This is a little overboard, but you can't go wrong with it. Just very time consuming. This will not turn out as good as shine as having them professionally polished, with the use of wheels and such. But they'll turn out pretty good. Check out TPI383 I believe thats who it is.

Ions, do you think it would turn out alright if I went 120>240>400>600>1500 and then buffed and polished them? I have done body work before, and normally that combination would make lacquer shine like glass...

Not sure. I've heard the 120 - 180 -240 -320 are the most important stages in metal polish. I think you could skip the 180 and 320 just make sure you do good with the 240 and 400. Anything above that is just looking for that mirror look... which is hard to do with sand paper. You can get a good shine, but it'll never compare to a buffing wheel and white rogue compound.
Oh, and nope don't have any pictures. I just bought my SS wheels not long ago, and started polishing my 91. TPI383 has done his/hers. So far, I've just been working to get the cast off. It's not a very quick process, just a warning. Removing the cast takes along time... atleast by hand. I broke out the dremel a few times, and made me a few trenches and realized I should just take the time to do it by hand.
