question about buffing.....need help RARE-ROC-Z or any pro's
RARE-ROC-Z, I hope you don't mind but I have read other topics with your info and I think you would be able to answer my question pretty easily. My car was painted last summer by the previous owner. It is a very nice paint job, unfortuneately there seem to be some small marks in the clear coat. It looks like some small rocks have hit the clear coat and left tiny chips on the hood and roof. The marks don't appear to go down to the paint. The previous owner claims there are 20 layers of whatever the clear coat is. I am wondering if it is possible to have a body shop sand or buff out the marks? Sorry if it is hard to picture what I'm talking about, I don't know how to explain it and I don't have any pics. Any help would be well appreciated, Thanks.

How bad are these marks?
Sure a bodyshop will buff you car. Who knows where the money goes that they get from you to do this. If I worked in a body shop I would say "pull it in I'll buff it out for 20-40 bucks". Then I would use the supplies provided by the company and put the money in my pocket and maybe two bucks in the busneiss accout for supplys. Other wise why dont you try to buff it out by hand? Is it that bad?
