Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
Was your Thirdgen your dream car or did you just get stuck with it lol
And do you have any other dream cars that you wish to acquire in the future?
Before I got my first Thirdgen I had wanted one for about 3 years already and I had just turned 16 so it was time for a car and thirdgens are relatively cheap.
It wasnt necessarily my dream car but I had come to loving these cars because my brother bought one back in 05 when he was about 16 or 17 and slowly I came to love these cars...
But The two cars that I had always wanted since I was a kid is
2002 WS6... I first came to know these cars back when I was about 6 or 7 my uncle bought a brand new one in 97 and he always came by in it and when we would go for rides in it he would haul *** down the freeway... GOOD TIMES GOOD TIMES lol
The second one is a C5 2002-2005 (6Speedonly) This one I have never had any kind of personal experience with but who doesnt love corvettes... Or Is that just me lol
I would really like to get one of these once IM in college as soon as I turn 18 i want to immediately begin building my credit so I can get one and maybe if everything goes as planned (it never does ) once im 20 or 21 i can put some money down on one...
What are yours??
and as for my thirdgen around this time I would hope that it would be in a condition where it is time for it to not be daily driven...

I've always wanted a late 80's monte carlo ss T top!
Too hard to find one that isn't on 26 inch rims with a lift kit. Not to mention painted an ugly neon color.

Of course my thirdgen is my dream come true. Always loved thirdgens, especially when my father purchased 89 vert sc. Always said he would give me it one day, but I couldn't wait Haha. Always loved camaro since he had a 68 when I was a little guy. Would hangout in that car all way with my toy wrenches.
But I do have a few more dream cars...
93 vw corrado vr6
Iroc 1le
91 nsx
72 camaro (split bumper)

yeah I hear ya and for some reason the crappy wheels/paint/crappy custom interior qualifies it to being worth 16k and up lol

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
Exactly. The price for those things is astronomical. You can get a reasonably priced "aerocoupe" style, but I think that's ugly. I want one in black, dump it on air ride, and run an 18/20 staggar set of wheels. It'd be interesting to see what numbers I could make on that boat anchor of an engine.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
Did the G8 have an LS2? I know the car's production was short-lived.
A few months ago I tried selling my truck for what I owed. I wanted to walk into an SRT-4 caliber or a LS2 Goat. Didn't happen though. Looks like i'm underwater on the silverado!

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
my dream car is a 67' Firebird 400, in Verdoro Green with the black interior...
but for whatever reason (price, availability, practicality) I settled for the GTA.
I liked it enough to buy it and it has really grown on me since then, I love it!

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
I graduated in '88. The Monte Carlo SS was the car I wanted. I found one the year after I bought my Z-28. ('92) I even test drove it. Musta had something wrong with it because it was a dog. Hell it had a 350 in it and my 305cfi woulda smoked it.
I saw a great looking '87 Monte Carlo SS at a car show this summer, still a great design.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
I've always loved the Firebird/Trans Am. My parents had two '79s when I was a kid. One was a gold ttop and one was a brown hardtop. I'd still like to get my hands on a 79 ttop someday. There are a LOT of cars I would like to own.
Dream car list TOP 10 (in no particular order):
'90 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE Silver
'90 Trans Am GTA Gunmetal Metalic (good luck to me finding one!)
'79 Trans Am T-Top Gold
'81 DeLorean
'02 Firehawk Sunset Orange Metallic
'91 Corvette ZR1 Black (red interior)
'82 Recaro Trans Am Black and Gold
'69 Trans Am Ram Air 400 (not a clone) (good luck to me on that one too!)
'83 GMC High Sierra Long Bed 4x4 Brown/Tan
'89 Ferrari Testarossa Red of course (a friend of mine had one of these a few years ago...I loved that car and I especially loved driving it!)

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
1977-78 black w/gold trans am with the w72 400. I love the IROC, its definitely my favorite car to drive, but I've ALWAYS loved the 77-78 trans am's, ever since i 1st saw smokey and the bandit as a kid. I had a 78 firebird, 305-3spd, but never had a black one.

68-70 GTO
Had a 70 LeMans as a first car as a project, but sold it to get the bird off my dad.
I really do like the Monte Carlo SS, Grand Nationals, and C5 Vettes..
I will probably pick up a C5 Vette or 04-06 GTO as a DD though. I want to tear the bird apart and do things right. I'll never be selling my bird.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
ok I am obviously feeling like an outsider
I once saw a Ferrari Testa Rosa 250 (not testarossa) as a kit car in kit car magazine in the 80s and was blown away. they crated it using molds they made off a real one so it really looked like the car below. they offered it for 40K turnkey with a Jag 12 cylinder in it and no radio. with slicks it would do 5 second 0-60s. I wish I still had that magazine as I want to find one of these kits. no one I have found makes any very nice that I have seen since. and a real one sold for the most money of any car. a black one for 14 million so I could only afford the kit car!

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
It's funny to hear a few say "I've wanted a 2001 .......since I was a kid".
Makes me realize I'm getting old as dirt. .
When I was a "kid", late 70's cars were around...no real performance cars at all those years...at least not from the big 3. Heck, even 'Vettes were only putting out a measley 150 up or so. I had already graduated HS when the 83 Camaros came out, and to be honest I didn't like them at all back then....but now I do ironically.
I've always been a car nut, so there's way too many "dream cars" to list, although I wouldn't mind adding a '68-'69 big block Corvette to my garage....or a GTX 440....or a 69 Dart GTS, or a '68 GTO...I can keep going......

Fortunately, I already own one of my dream car that I can actually fit in, which is my '91 Trans Am GTA. I stand 6' 5", and unfortunately, the other cars that I lust after aren't exactly tall people friendly.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
@ ruckus actually the G8 came with the L76 which was just slightly less powerful than the ls2 but a better motor. L76 is tuned for 87 and can be tuned for more power on 93, has better flowing heads, and variable cam phasing.
The g8 GXP came with an LS3, but few were produced.
Third gen camaro was my dream "project" car since the age of about 10. Of course I have the standard dreams of owning a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or other high end super car.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
My first thirdgen, an 86 firebird I ended up with. Some lady pulled out in front of me so my 2nd was by choice. That was an 86 T/A t-top that got built into a car many of you know. After I got rid of that I wanted something still thirdgen but slightly desirable. I decided on a 91 z28 G92 5.7. Financially it made sense to get rid of that at that point in my life and although it was equipped nicely it was hardtop, high miles, and average interior. Over the past 8 years my realistic dream car was a low miles (not really super low) red 91-92 z28 vert. After chasing a few opportunities with limited resources I stumbled across what I just got right before Christmas and it is my realistic dream car... By choice.
91 z28 convertible
Red/tan top
93k miles
Mint interior
Clean engine bay
All original except for interior color and tires
My wife and I'd Daily drivers are fun too. 06 Charger srt8. Ideally I'd like that with about 20k miles less and in an 07-08. The other is a 08 Caliber SRT4. Low miles and a blast to drive. Like a little go kart.
Other cars I'd like but a little less are:
Monte SS
TTA
VW Jetta MKiV GLI 1.8t
91 z28 convertible

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
I like all GM and Mopar muscle. Even the stuff purists shun. But I've always loved 3rd gens (KnightRider is most likely to blame). I'll never sell the GTA but I've been dreaming about a couple others as secondary rides (not including a DD)
Those would be
AMC Gremlin with a 4.0L & 6spd from a Jeep TJ, air ride and Snakeskin Green paint
early '90s K1500 budget drift missle (Won't care too much when I slide it into a wall)
and a '77-'90 Caprice Classic Estate on air ride with a slightly warmed up Dmax/Allison powertrain and anything else to make it a tow rig in dark red with wood paneling
I'll most likely never build any of the 3 but its fun to think about.

Re: Do You Have Any Other Dream Cars?
81 Z28... Always been partial to the body style. Would have gotten the one my sister and her now ex-husband had if they hadn't sold it. Would have to have a minimum of a 454 in it with a 6-speed. Fuel injected (hate carbs). Black interior, T-tops, black exterior.
My 93 Grand Prix back, or one just like it with the aero body, less rust, dual exhaust, manual, and a HUD. Possibly with a 3500 swapped in place of the 3.1.
93 Daytona (last year). Whatever the top model was that was available with the 3.0 (I've had the displeasure of working on the 2.2/2.5 family of engines). Dark gray or black interior, manual. And, unlike the one I had for a little while a few years back, a working trunk lock (lock never worked and hatch had to be released using the lever on the driver's side by the door).
Any new Camaro... As long as it's manual and Crystal Red with a black interior.
Too rich for my blood...
And my 87 Bird back, with ZERO RUST and NO LEAKING T-TOPS. Fat chance, since it's been scrapped.

Not a GNX?
I think you mean Testarossa
"The Testarossa [sic] should not be confused with the Ferrari TR
"Testa Rossa" of the late 1950s and early 1960s, which were GT sports cars that ran in the World Sportscar Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.[3] "
sorry ... just being a pain
