whew...my car does not need to be in here with some of those cars! thanks for the nominations again though!
since last year, i've swapped out the th400 and swapped in a t56. i have the 6.0 at the machine shop getting refreshened and have a junkyard 5.3 shortblock in the car at the moment. it has not been to the track since the swap.
here's a couple updated pics

Hey Fellas,
Appreciate the nomination, but the other cars in this thread really have it going on.

My car has been a constant work in progress since I purchased it two years ago, and has come a long way, and is undergoing a second transformation for this season. This car for me is to have fun on the street, with the occasional trip to the strip, but mainly just a fun, and solid cruiser.

Before serp setup
Quick list off the top of my head:
GM Corvette replacement Target engine from the early 70s (300hp stock) .030 over running off a Holley 600 double pumper. GM Serpentine setup... Motor is being pulled however, as I have a 4 bolt 350 block to make a 383 and also a 400 block that may turn into a 434.
As it sits in these pictures for the most part:
Sunoco Hood
Hawks 5" spoiler
UMI Subframe connectors
UMI Wonder bar
Edelbrock lcas
Edelbrock adjustable Panhard bar
Eibach Pro Kit
Z28 Steering box w/ astro van steering shaft
Inland Empire Aluminum Driveshaft
10 bolt with 3.73s and a TrueTrac dif
Rebuilt T5 w/ Pro 5.0 shifter
Front end rebuild w/ Poly bushing all around
Running Corvette C5 wheels on 2" spacers
In progress for spring (car on lift torn apart):
Strange Engineering 12 bolt 3rd Gen rear end w/ 3.73s
1LE Brakes on all four corners
TKO-600 w/ adapter from Forte's parts connection
the list goes on, but that covers the basics.
Not expecting to make car of the month, but maybe I'll pop up again when the car is finished, and I really appreciate the nomination

Re: March 2013 COTM **VOTING**
Thank you for the nomination...this is quite a surprise!
I've been on the board for over 10 years now, just not with this name. I've had this particular car for about 11 years now. I got it when I was living in upstate NY. I had just sold my Sports Coupe that a friend and I built which had a 406 and th350 and other goodies in it. I felt sellers remorse so I immediately started searching for something else. I got this formula for about $2800 in very good condition, but with a blown motor. The reason I paid so much is because it was a Florida car and there was NO rust which is a huge issue in the northeast. I've had a plan in my head for a thirdgen ever since I was 15. I'm just now realizing that I'm finished my plan
I've been through about 4 different engines, 2 transmissions and 4 axles. I've also had 3 sets of wheels on the car. It's never "done"
Here is a breakdown of my car
BODY:
-Fresh "down to the metal" repaint.
-ASCD Ram Air 1 hood
-Hawks repro spoiler
-Stripe delete
-tasteful decal delete
Chassis/Suspension/Driveline
-Dana 44 with 4.11 gears
-4th Gen aluminum drive shaft
-T-56 with Pro 5.0 shifter
-MacLeod clutch
-Poly bushings throughout
-Spohn LCA, LCARB, Panhard, Subframe connector, solid strut mounts. TDS Wonderbar. Custom UMI Strut Tower Brace
-36mm WS6 front sway bar, 24mm WS6 rear sway ba4
-Bilstien AK Struts/Shocks
-Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs
-17" Ronal Firehawk wheels with 275-40-17 on all 4 corners
-LS1 Front brakes. LT1 rear brakes.
Engine/Etc.
-355 Gen1 SBC 4 bolt
-Scat forged crank (3.75")
-Polished X Beam rods
-SRP forged pistons
-AFR Eliminator 195 heads
-TPIS Miniram
-30 pound injectors
-Lloyd Elliot custom cam 223 230 .535 .535 109LSA
-OBD2 PCM swap using stock GM Electronics
-Dyno Don headers and Y Pipe. Magnaflow 3" Catalytic Converter, Magnaflow catback
-Champion 3 core aliminum Rad
-Chassis dynoed 370 RWTQ, 370 RWHP
Interior
-1983 Charcoal grey interior pulled from a NEW car that was converted into a race car. An amazing find since its pretty rare to find in good shape!
-New headliner, carpet and 4thgen cloth seats
-145 MPH speedo with MacEwen white face gauges
-Triple A-pillar gauge pod with Autometer Wide band O2, Fuel Pressure, and water temp (all electric)
Here are some videos
Idle clip: (Pre paint)
Burnout: (the day the Dana went in. Had to prove the old posi worked to the buyer of the 9 bolt
)

Next few are in Route 66. I'd always wanted to travel route 66 in my car, and it just happened to be my birthday....it was amazing!

Re: March 2013 COTM **VOTING**
I'm not sure i belong on here YET but thanks. This $300 car was given to me as junk and became my daily driver from 1996-2001 after a little bit of work. It then sat in storage till 2010. It has taken me the past 3 years to do all this on a VERY thin shoe string budget.
4 bolt 383 all forged lower end
full roller lunati cam kit
trick flo 2.02 aluminum heads
performer rpm manifold + 1" spacer
demon 750
RobbMc fuel pump
k&n air filter
msd dizzy+6al
hooker shorties to 3" with no cat to flowmaster with 2.5" tips
serpentine conversion
electric cooling fan conversion
4th gen coolant bottle conversion
1996 t56
hurst competition plus shifter
ram clutch
spec billet steel flywheel
3" coleman aluminum driveshaft
10 bolt 4th gen disc rear with aftermarket auburn posi 3.42 with moser axles, c-clip eliminators and perfect launch girdle
iroc wonder bar
36MM hollow front sway bar
24mm rear sway bar
energy suspension motor mounts and bushings everywhere
custom moog springs with 1" drop
kyb agx adjustable struts/shocks
pbr brakes
granatelli lca's
founders lcarb
spohn panhard
spohn torque arm/trans mount
south side machine shop frame rails
edlbrock strut tower brace
j&m strut mounts
ram air fiberglass hood
89 gta 140mph/8k rpm dash console and converted interior from grey to black but kept the factory electric pmd seats 'recovered'
added power locks, mirrors, hatch, vanity mirror, cargo door
daytime running lights module
dakota digital sgi-5c vss converter
c5 wheels
Recently i did the t56 conversion and while i was at it i stripped the undercarriage. With the car on jack stands and me laying on the ground turning my back into hamaburger meet i scraped, sanded and, scrubbed it bare. Re-sprayed it with undercoating and painted all the bolts and brackets. I cleaned up the fuel and brake lines with a wire brush on my drill then rubbed them down with steel wool to make them shinny again. Painted the tranny and exhaust with vht flame proof header paint.
Next on the list to be done is to get some new seat belts and nicer shifter boot and **** so as to finish the interior, ls1 brakes then finally getting it painted again
So after getting it painted and cleaning it up back when it was a daily driver in the 90's

Moving on to the modern era

It took me a little time to vote this month becasue there are some very awesome cars and as far I am concerned they are all winners. But there can only be one COTM. Jupiter, your interior got me so I voted for you.

Thank you SpeedDemon91, yes, that's his car. It looks great up close and sounds even better!
Re: March 2013 COTM **VOTING**
Cool! A little trick I use is flatten a large cardboard box to lay on. Much easier to slide around on!

Re: March 2013 COTM **VOTING**
A scrapper a wire brush, a gallon of degreaser and, some thinner and i ruined my cardboard bed. In the end i didn't really mind. Sanding was easy once it was all clean.
