Re: Leather seat repair

replacing the leather panel. That's the only way to "fix" that.

Re: Leather seat repair

There are interior guys that travel around from dealer to dealer that can really do wonders. I know a guy that does it and his work is superb, also has a guarentee. Here is an example of what he can do:

That is some great work. I was about to say what Scott said with replacement, but that is impressive. I would have to imagine that is some sort of dying process to re-fill the dye into the stress cracks and grains of the leather? Do you know if this is a chain, like MARS... Mobile Auto Restoration Service?

Re: Leather seat repair

"Leatherique" repair kits work well, I just redid my steering wheel, follow instructions, came out really well. There website has some vids that are helpful.

Easy.

Re: Leather seat repair

Personally I've heard some horror stories about guys who've used leatherique, I've been looking into the products from Furnitureclinic. They're based out of the UK, so with shipping it's not a cheap fix, but from everything I've read, they seem like they offer top quality products to not only fix burns, scuffs and scratches, but also even reliably changing the color of the seats. When I can afford to, I'm going this route for a set of C4 sport seats I picked up to retrofit.

Re: Leather seat repair

I tried to buy that UK stuff off ebay, couldn't ship to U.S. cause of chemical thing I guess.

After doing my wheel, its really quite easy, there prepping agent works well and takes alot of the wrinkles and imperfections off the leather finish.

Leatherique process isn't difficult. Just followed their instructions. I was happy w/ results. With any mfr kit, if you try to hurry and take short cuts, it will not work out.

I got to get better finish pics, but this is before and after.

Re: Leather seat repair

I guess there are a few options to consider..I saw the Leatherique on youtube.. People said it was bad, some said it was good. But I am sure it has to do with prep work and not taking shortcuts.
Thanks..

It's actually his own business. Whats really good about it to is that he has a guarentee....if it fails, he will redo it. Not sure how the process works but I've seen him use some light grits of sandpaper and he uses several chemicals, spray guns, dyes....all of that. The name of his business is "Materpiece Auto Reconditioning". He wants me to come and work for him....but it's hard to juggle 2 business's
