Thank you! That is my best friend vince's car, its so unoriginal though haha it had tons of different trans, engines, and rears over the years. its a cool car, my 305 HO beat it in a race easily though.

Looks good. How hard was it to mask off and paint? I was out getting quotes to get my buckets done yesterday. I'm still tempted to just paint them myself.

Sems trim paint is the best I've seen and it has the factory low-gloss look.
Also it's very easy to use.
Thank you for painting your buckets black

Re: Painted headlight pockets
I did my buckets using the trim black from Sem and can say it looks great. I use it for a lot of the exterior trim pieces, holds up well over time as well.

Looks great! and it wasn't hard to do at all, just takes patience, I am even happier I went to u pull a part today, and they had a smashed up grey 84' Z28 and it had the exact same interior as mine, needless to say I bought the seats since mine were all ripped and, now I almost have a complete original interior.

Re: Painted headlight pockets
I have to do mine still but I was gonna do a flat black look. Does anyone have pics of a flat black to compare them to the semi gloss?

Re: Painted headlight pockets
I just plastidipped mine, I think it looks great, but something closer to the semi-gloss (instead of flatish) would look better. But I dont trust rattlecan paint to look good, and plastidip is removable.

With your car as nice as it is, I would go plastidip or go have a bodyshop do it. The paint in the buckets from a rattle can is not going to look good nearly as long as your paintjob will. It'll probably start fading or chipping after a few years.
I dont know whose black Z28 that is, but it looks fantastic! Your buckets look great too.

Re: Painted headlight pockets
We went through this in another thread, even the black cars had semi gloss/satin headlight pockets. Any you see with gloss are repaint, and not historically accurate. Yes, there are a lot out there like this, but they are not correct.
That being said, it still is a matter of preferrence. Do what you want to. To be correct to the way it came factory, satin black is the way to go.
