Anyone have pics of 4th gen console in 3rd gen
I'm thinking about putting a 4th gen console in my car. It has a cupholder, lol, and it will be easier for me to adapt my Flip-out-TV once I get it here. I was wondering if anyone has pics of one installed in a 3rd gen. I remember a post awhile back, but I couldn't tell very well what it looked like. Thanks alot.

Hey, thanks alot. The only question I'm having is how to get the CD player and A/C controls to fit. I haven't gotten the console yet, but wanna know how hard it would be for those. Thanks.

Are there any differences between the 97+ TA console and the 97+ Camaro console. Which would be a better fit into my car if they are different, thanks alot.

Hey Nosaint, is that your car in the picture??? If so, Which console did you buy, Firebird, or Camaro, and what year did it come out of. I saw that you had 2 head unit, and your A/C controls. That is what I want to do with mine. I am putting in a Flip out TV, but I am keeping my CD player. How hard was it to do, thanks.

its a 93 - 97 trans am model.
I had to cut the bottom of the audio pod out and remove some of the stuff in the back.
It requires so messing around to make it all neat and tidy. But two units will fit. The bottom one is a DSP unit.

Hey Nosaint,
What are those seats out of? They look like they came out of an older Bonneville SSE/SSEI.
I like them, let me know how they fit.
------------------
White '88 RS (originally 2.8)
Previous engine-350, .040 over, vette alum. L98s, stock tpi, stock 305 injectors & chip. TES headers & edelbrock cat back. 3.73 gears, 700r4.
Best with 2.8-17.4@77mph
Best with 305-15.0@93mph
Best with 357-13.7@101mph
on a 2.050 60 ft.
(Damn the 2.8!)
New Setup:
4 bolt 357 (10.2:1), AFR 190s (fully cnc ported), LT4 Hot cam (1.6 RRs), Ported SuperRam (upper&lower), Ed Wright custom chip, 24# Accel injectors, Yank 3200 lock-up TC, 3.27 9 bolt rear, some traction! Hoping to see some 12s.

Ok sort of on the same topic, Has anyone used the 4th gen heater controls, with the center console, on their 3rdgen? I like the rotory design better than the slider. It would be different too.

No. The 3rd gens are cable operated, while the 4ths are electronic...You would literally have to replace everything in teh A/C system just about...

Firebird's are a breeze. You may be able to fab something with an old firebird pod to mount into the camaro for your radio and a/c controls.
Re: the 4th gen controls, first they are much larger than the 3rd gen, second the 3rd gen is cable, vacuum and electronic, the 4th gen is all electronic so it wouldn't quite work.
If you want to change out to a 4th gen heater core then you'd be fine.
... how bout that auto-shifter? I'm assuming by the handles that most of the swaps are on automatic trans 3rd gens (like mine
... ah someday, I'm'a find mahself a 6-speed
) anyway... what I'm wonderin' is if ya'll ever feel a need for the gear-lights? Anyone think there's a way to fab the gear-lights (gear position lights) into the 4th gen console? Mine in my '91 T/A glow that pontiac bloody orange, which I'd like to keep!

This is the newest pic. There are wires everywhere due to my Carb to TPI swap.

This is an earlier pic with a T-Handle since I couldn't find my regular ****,
