As much as I love the Iroc, due to desirability and value id go with the 82 Indy

Re: 82 Camaro Indy 500 vs 89 IrocZ
The Pace car is probably more collectable but the '89 IROC will be more driveable. Engine tech and suspension design changed quite a lot from '82 to '89.
If it would be for show and investment only the '82 might be the way to go but, if it is to drive and enjoy the '89 wins hands down.

I've had both, literally. The 82 was cool, wish I never sold it, but the IROC will always be #1 in my book.

Purely from the seat of the pants, the 89 Iroc! Plus, with the rarity of the 82 PC, the 89 would be more fun, they're bunches of them out there. I hate owning cars that you have to worry about driving.
Re: 82 Camaro Indy 500 vs 89 IrocZ
You ask everyones opinion, then you have a problem when it isn't what you want to hear. Fact is 82-84 was an awkward time in GM engineering for these cars. Great at the time but quickly outdated. The IROCs had fixes in suspension and structural problems. TPI was miles ahead of the crossfire and carbureted engines. Not to mention they DO look better. Your car will have a higher value over a run of the mill IROC in comparable condition because of it's limited production and that's all. Enjoy the car and respect the opinions you ask for.

Well that makes it much more amusing. I have to admit I was rolling at the geo metro with IROC badges. I was wondering what the threads reason was. Thought maybe you were thinking about an upgrade.
