This should be a sticky.. just sayin...

Huge pics in thread??

Go to to your USER CP
click "Edit Options" on the left side
Look on the page (middle to bottom) where it says "The Image Resizer"
Select Use Lytebox (v4.0)
Click Save at the bottom of the page

Your images (and those posted by others) now will now NOT be huge!

How to post any web image (or from your uploaded photos)
1. go to your album (or any web album like photo bucket etc) and find the picture you want to see.. make sure you see it the largest size.... if you use a place like photo bucket ensure that you are sharing the photo with "public"
2. right click on the image and select "copy image URL". it may be different like copy image location or something like that. I use chrome so...
3. now go to the forum page where you want to put your image. In the text type "[IMG]" (without the quotes) then right click and chose paste and it will paste the web address of your picture. then type "[/IMG]" without the quotes. post it.. enjoy it.

I work in IT and to me this stuff is simple but I know I may be biased...
I hope this helps you all!

It still amazes me that here in the year 2015, there are still people that live in this somewhat civilized nation that use the interweb, yet they still haven't figured out how forums work.

I most likely am one of the heaviest users when it comes to posting photos on this site.

I keep an archive of folders that contain multitudes of itemized photos and links.
"Image Shack" is a must have If you like posting photos and the first few months its free. Or something like that. I pay $20.00 a year.

Anyway, anyone with a digital camera can document everything you do to your car and it does not matter at what point you are at in your build posting photos enhances a thread.
I wish more people would post photos.

Like anything else there is a learning curve.

I was using the large setting at "Image Shack", The photo on the bottom but I will start using the "medium" setting, "photo on the top".
The "less is more" concept......looks better......thank you......
And I love the new tires .

The directions given will vary according to OS used......

The software this board uses has to be one of the most picture friendly of any I have seen. It is so easy to load here, no other hosting site is needed!

On the other side, it also places a large load on the Forum host though. They have to host the pictures, as well as the monthly bandwidth usage. So I prefer to use my own hosting. I like Flickr more than anything else when it comes to hosting pictures.

But, if its something technical related like schematics, or parts comparison shots I'll upload it to Thirdgen.org so it remains for future use regardless of whether or not I still have the same image host.

That way someone doesn't run across a thread in X years and have no pics.

I just use google photos since they backup from my phone...and put in an album and share the album then put the image tags in the post and boom.. its there
