Ok, I am ready to finally by a new hood. My current hood is a 2-piece hood that has been custom made and I don't trust Bondo any more.

Anyways, I want a hood that goes up to the windshield. The only one i know of is the 2 1/4 inch Unlimited hood. Anyone have pics of others. Please show as many as possible, Thanks

Heres mine. It is a Harwood 2 3/4 bolt on. IMO the Harwood looks the best because it doesn't have the "ridge"in the center like the A & A and Unlimited and most others have.

92RSB4C that looks almost just like the one we made! You know Mike, maybe we shoulda set your original hood on the car while its in storage instead of the cowl. Since all its got on it is primer, water is gonna soak into it. If we hadn't have done that it would proabbly be just fine to use. Oh well you're spending enough $$ on the car might as well just buy one!

Hey Blue 502, That's almost exactly what i'm trying to make... how did you do yours???

I'm trying to combine 2 hoods into one. Using Rivets, Welding, Fiberglass, and bondo.

here's mine, VFN 4" cowl, I like the line in the middle of the hood personally because it looks more like the factory piece than the Harwoods

Well, that's exactly why I think don't think any others besides the Harwoods look kinda original, because our cars didn't have a ridge in the hood...I mean, I think they all look good, and are head and shoulders above a stock, flat hood, but the cowls hoods with the ridge in the center look more appropriate on 1st and 2nd Gens to me.

Hey MeanYellowZ, haven't seen that car around for awhile, I used to have that pic as a goal for my car, but i don't have a good interior for yellow paint though (red) love that car man.

Anyone have pics of the 2 1/4 inch cowl, like the one that came on the 1st gen Z-28's?

what ever you do, do not buy the unlimited 2 1/4 cowl. i bought one. i think it looks awsome. but the biggest problem is that their quality is ****. on top of the $300 i spent on the hood i had to spend an additional $300 at a body shot to get it straight.

Heavey_Chevy... weird you should mention that. Look above, mine came cracked to me. However, there are few people in my town that bought one, the straightness of it was what was good about it. The hood has lined up with everyones I know. However, I still do not have mine on.

what i ment about being straight is getting all the inperfections out of the gell coat. it lines up perfect. my hood arrived with some small cracks at the tip. it also had a chipped corner. luckly i have a friend that works at an autobody shop that took care of it for me. he said that my hood was really bad and i should have bought one from harwood.but still $300 is alot of extra money. what color is your car. mine is black, that is why you can see any imperfect. i think you will like it once you get on your car.

MeanYellowZ, where did you get that hood? What kind is it? That is sweet! I love the stripes on the cowl. I always wondered how i could get a cowl hood and still have stripes, problem solved.

Glasstek makes some very high quality pieces. People in the racing circuits who are in the know use Glasstek. That should tell you something right there.

Can someone photoshop MeanYellow Z's car to red with white stripes? I would like to see what my car would look like with the set-up. Thanks in advance.

heavy_chevy29, Black as well, I wanted a harwood, but the price was rather high.

BuddyLeeX, www.unlimitedproducts.com has the cheapest hood, but read above as that's what we were talking about.

my hood
Here's my 4" cowl. I bought the fiberglass cowl and grafted it to a $10 junkyard hood. Rather easy actually.
