1988 iroc-z restoration and customization

I recent purchased a 1988 iroc-z 5.7l v8 for $3200 as a first car. I plan on restoring what's broken or missing and doing some customization in areas I feel fit. The car when I bought it had broken hood struts, bubbling window tint, messed up shifter, cracked dash, firebird steering wheel button, broken windshield, and missing headliner. In the couple of weeks I got the car I replaced the shifter with a quarter stick, removed the factory tint and got new hood struts. I'm currently searching for a used dash and button. I'll keep posting into this thread when something new happens.

When I was a kid I remember my aunt pulling up in a new one just like it! I can still remember the way it sounded. Got yourself a nice piece of classic American muscle there chief! Enjoy it.

Congrats and good luck. But I will say, I get a bit squeamish when I hear the word, "custom".

By custom I just mean changing a few things to make it mine but I intend on keeping it looking stock on the outside and change a few thing on the inside to make the car perform better like a better exhaust system, new chip, and a strut tower brace.
