the cure for hazy park lights
got sick of the hazy look of my park lights and didn't want to shell out over $50 or more for (2) new lenses, so thought i'd take a stab at shining these things up
here's what i did
wet sanded with 2,000 grit
buffed the lenses with waffle pad and rubbing compound
buffed them out lastly with meguiars mirror glaze finishing polish
applied quick coat of meguiars wax
turned out really nice, and only took maybe 30 minutes total. Thought this may help someone out and save someone a few bucks.....and hey, if i can do this in 30 minutes, anyone can

Looks great....
Funny thing is that I have found cleaning up or replacing those is usually one the last things that's done to the exterior of our cars.
I see it all the time.
I'm guilty of that.

Re: the cure for hazy park lights
I have some NOS park lights but refuse to put them in until I try to sand & buff mine. One day I'll get motivated but have seen several threads on this subject. I thought some people actually clear coated them after all the work.

One of the first things I did to my car was wetsand the parking lights and tail lights and re-cleared them using a nice high build 2k clear. After some more wet sanding and polishing, they came out looking like new and have held up for 3 years!

What I've found is that it's fairly straight forward to sand and buff the exterior of the lens, VERY TOUGH to get them clean on the inside if they're really dirty.
