Hey guys,
I bought this last year, and I want your opinion on the paint color. The paint is in great shape, but the kids at school are always being immature and callin me homo and such, do you like this purple camaro? I get names such as Purple Princess. Lemme know what you think. Gotta respect the camaro.

 

dude, dont listen to those idiots, your car is clean, purple is one of the better colors on thirdgens IMO. i think your car would look really great with some different wheels, or even have those polished.

 

I agree, your car is clean and shiney. I love the purple color. The people that tease you are they friends or random people. Cause I think I might tease my friend about it. But again, I love how shiney and clean it is.

Purple isn't in my top 5 list for paint colors on a 3rdGen Camaro, but your job looks clean and has good shine, be proud of that car dude, it's yours

Some are friends and I do understand they are joking but some are just plain idiots, I hope I get to pick up chicks with that color, I'll tell them theres an 8 in there, if they know of care what that is.

 

I like that color.. it looks clean to me, so screw the guys who are being serious when they make fun of you about it. My friends give me crap about the color of my car too, oh well, I know they are just jealous!

It looks sharp man, high schoolers will talk $hit about anything just to get under your skin, usually the talkers are the ones working at 7 eleven 'til they die. Forget about it and be proud of the 3rd Gen. I used to catch hell for the 2.8 in my '82 SC, things change, now I drive a '99 Z and on sunny days I drive my '89 GTA! Purple camaros are 1,000,000 X's better than driving daddy's fiesta or mommy's cavalier. Hang in there HS sux. Good luck!

I used to drive a 4cyl Camaro in high school--put an ansa tip on it and everyone ragged on me for the "6" --dumb a$$e$!
I think if you put some GTA rims on it it'll really bring it out!

Purple looks awesome. It's unusual and looks really good at night. It also works very well against chrome wheels. Good choice!

Your car would really come alive with a set of 17" polished or chrome 5-spoke wheels (and solid black tires).

Dude, it's YOUR car, it's all about if YOU like it or not. Same thing happened to me, I was telling some people about how I was thinking about painting my Camaro the mopar "Plum Crazy" and they were all laughing at me.

My 92 RS is the same color, but it looks like your pain is in better shape than mine. It looks really nice. I get a lot of the same crap, though. I just dont pay attention to them

 

I like it, I think that is one bad A$$ color. I recomend next time one rips on your car, kick em in the junk! They will have a different apperication of purple when there ***** are that color

 

my firebird in my highschool was the only sports car in the lot with the exception of my friends camaro and his girlfriends 79 camaro.. everyone else had a POS car. all the guys made fun of my car because of the stripes. didnt bother me all the ladies love the car!! they all ask me to give em rides home, they especially like when you take off the t tops and let em sit outside your car like home comming queens ride in a parade. watch out though people in my school keyed my car 2 times, and i find friggen spit on my window sometimes when i go to resteraunts(jelous bastards).

 

I think they are just jealous. Purple Haze is a real cool color. I especially like it when matched up with silver Heritage stripes (only seen a couple), but then I am partial to stripes. Just keep it nice and have fun with it.

My Ford fanatic Friend pealed my dash up and down for it looking terrible (I have full gauge package and it looks sweet), and Pontiacs suck (he drove a Tempo...Tempo is dead the Bird live on with almost double the km)
I had another friend who drove a civic and he always made fun of my rims, and stereo He had $700 in a stereo in a $200 car...lol I had 1200 in a car and nothing in a stereo.

And I paid for my car, both my friends were given to them, and they still didn't do any maintence to them, my friends tempo drove without an exhaust for over a month cause his Grandmother wouldn't pay for it lol.Of course when tire burning in the parking lot came into session no one made fun of me then.

There was only two sport cars at my school my firebird, and a Thunderbird.

I agree with everybody man, it looks good. I'm in highschool to and everybody makes fun of me all the time beacuse I have "Old" cars. I just asked em to race and kicked their a$$es and then they kinda changed there mind. and if that doesn't work do a 2 min. burnout for em :-) Keep the car, it looks good!

My ex gf wanted a purple 3rd gen. She tried to talk me into painting mine purple. But...nah uh. Not putting your car down at all cause it looks NICE but purple doesnt do much for me. If it was my car it would get painted another color. But the paint looks nice, the car looks nice so dont worry about it. Who gives a **** what other KIDS say at school. I sure know I could give a rat's a$$!

 

The paint looks tight man, but you NEED to polish those rims!

and it looks to be it great shape too!!! i almost bought a a purple RS a few years ago, I was lacking the $$ at the time though and I regret it to this day. It's not my fav color (black is) but it's a rare (kind of) color and as far as I know exclusive to the early 90s RS.
I say keep it, and to hell with anyone that says other wise!!!
it's your car, not theirs, and you sure can pick it out in a sea of mommy and daddy's cars around your school.

Don't worry about what those guys say, your car is cool. Chances are they know their cars will never look that good, or they are idiots who think those "damn purple ricers" in the fast and the furious were awesome. The first car I drove in high school was my uncle's panther pink 70 T/A Challenger. Yeah I took alot of crap, but everybody knew it would blow their doors off (and it did quite a few times ) Anyway keep that car lookin good, throw some mods at it and be proud.

 

Screw them. Dark purple is cool. Its when you get into lavender and stuff thats a little iffy. Besudes what are all those kids driving? Hondas? Moms minivan?

 

I think it looks great man. I'll never forget a few years back I saw a purple 92 Z28 for the first time. I'm still in love with the car. And by the way, this is coming from another high school kid.

I went throught he same thing with y 2 camaros in highschool,in fact my first one was keyed twice and I got expelled for nearly beating him to death,still got my DIPLOMA though and that kid who keyed my car is a loser living in a trailor with his pothead ma

 

Now, all you need is a yellow theme to go along with that color

I was going to paint my car a purple like that but a little bit darker and have a banner on the windshield in yellow lettering and in hte back have "Tuned Port Injection" written in yellow as well as the z28 emblems behind the front two wheels...

I'll have to agree with everyone else, your car looks great! Purple has to be my favorite (next to black) colour for a car.... My first car was supposed to be a purple Pinto with a 302!

If I had the $$$ my next car would be a 25th aniv Purple Haze Camaro with stripes... Never seen one but can just imagine how it would look. *drool*

 

Hey PimpRod92RS, if you polish your rims that will make your car look even better.Then they will go to wally world and get those crappy wheel covers just to try to keep up with the good looks of your car.Do it like my test rim

 

dont pay any attention to those kids. i have a purple car. i got crap for it. but girls love the color. and its rare. dont change it. just think in a year or two you will be out of hs. and after that no one cares what color your car is. tint the windows and polish or chrome rims and your car would look great. if you want an idea of what it looks like go to

I know what you're going through. In highschool, I only had my Laser, which was "Raspberry" in colour. Kinda a purplish pink metallic colour. I got the same ****, but then I'd just say "Wait a minute, which car is yours again?"

But no, the purple looks good man. And I can vouch, that the chick colours DO attract the chicks. I had one chick tell me that she'd rather have my Laser (Because of the colour) than the black mustang GT she'd seen out front.

 

Theres a guy around here with the same color purple you have but he has the silver heritage stripes, and 5 star chrome rims. Your car does look good now but I think new rims and the heritage stripes will make it look 10 times better.

 

I agree with blue305, definately a set of crome rims, and silver heritage stripes. Try a set of 91-92 Z28 wheels that have been polished.

 

Next time your at the jean store get 32 longs, whatever u gots alil' too short, nothing but socks under the door, hee hee

I think your car looks real sharp. I think as long as you keep it looking that clean, you've got nothing to be ashaimed of. Some chrome rims would really make it look sweet. Nice ride!

 

You have a awesome car man, that purple is a sweet shade. But I agree with 85SportCoupeto89RS, and others.. you should consider doing something about the rims..

 

What's wrong with purple? I may be a little biased, going to school at TCU (purple and white), but around here, there is a LOT of purple!
