Wetsanding finished, now what?

Well, I have finished wetsanding the lid to my air cleaner, now what should I do? Do I just use a regular polish? What about rubbing compounds or other products? I wetsanded with 1500 grit and it is really smooth but I am lost on what to do or use next . Thanks for your input!

If you want a nice shine carlike finish, I think the next step is a compound.

Any specific brands? It doesn't need to look like glass, but I do want it to look like new.
