Gasoline stain on primer, F***** correct?

So as the title says my primer has gas stains on it (car was parked for a year, forgot I needed a new cap) Anyone have any magic tricks to remove at least the dirt and what not from the area? Or am I correct in my belief it just needs to be redone at this point? I plan on sanding/respraying the primer before paint anyway I just don't like the massive stains on the car.

Sand on it and see if it's just on the surface
