louvers and ann. stripes

I want to do this to my convert....but I have two questions
1) Where can I get the stripes long enough for the truck lid and

2) how would the look with louvers......photo shoppers?? or ppl who have done this?

Paint the stripes on, you'll be much happier in the end. The decals are not glossy. Plus if you put on lots of clear, you can colorsand away most of the ridges at the edge of the stripes and have the hood real smooth. Unless you have a black convert, you are going to have 3 colors on your hood unless you paint the louvers the same color as the stripe like I did. I think that would make your hood too busy. I don't like body color louvers either, looks funny.

Year One has the stripe kits. I would put 91-92 hood blisters on it. What color are you thinking about? I know Year One only has a few colors. I had mine painted on, it cost $2500 for the complete job. Something to think about. You can do it the way you want it.

I'm assuming that Rod was saying it cost $2500 for the whole paintjob, not just the striping. Just painting on the stripes on your existing paintjob, clearcoating, and colorsanding should run you around $1000. Any more than that and I think you are getting ripped. I've have several friends paint the stripes on their 30th anniversary Camaros, and they all paid in that range.

The stripes were an extra $500 for mine. $2500 for the whole paint job.
