Hey....I have a 90 RS, soon to be w/ an IROC hook installed w/ louvers. I'm going to paint it black and put white pinstripes down the sides, but what do you guys think it would look like if I painted the louvers white too?? If anyone's ever done this....please post pics..... Also, my interior is black.

i don't think it would great unless you had white stripes.

I don't even think it would look right with stripes. If the car was a solid color and the louvers painted the same color of the rest of car it would look ok.
I don't like painted louvers, but do what you like, its your car.

Paint them white only if you have white stripes. They would look terrible by themselves on your black car painted white. Here is my hood with the white stripes and louvers:

When I bought my black '85 IROC from the original owner, it had silver hood louvers. He thought it looked good with the silver IROC stripe, but to me it just didn't look right. I bought a set of louvers from the dealer the first week that I had the car. I know silver isn't white, but the contrast is about the same with silver or white on a black car.
Anybody looking for a set of silver louvers???

Blue 502's vents are an example of the only occassion you should even consider it!Looks sweet with the white stripes! But otherwise forget it!

Dude...go for it. I painted the louvers on my T/A silver and they look sweet. i think that white louvers on your car would be awesome and make it look mean as hell. If you so it yourself though be extra careful NOT to get any white on the rest of your paint!!!

Don't.
Or u could buy another pair, paint them and change them whenever u want too.

Here is my old 86 Z28, I painted the louvers red because my interior was red. I thought it looked ok. Do it if YOU like it!

Theres somone around here with a RS that has their louvres painted silver to match the grille, on a purple car. (Yes hood louvres on an RS, I'm guessing they swapped hoods). It looks pretty good, but it looks like it was self painted (as in the car).

I really mean no offence, but I think that looks hideous. Two tone pushed to the limit!Originally posted by 1991 RS 305

It kind of reminds me of a '93 pace car. Throw some rainbow stripes on that thing and you've got a dead ringer.

Actually I think it looks kinda cool. I'd never do it to my IROC, but for some reason I sort of like it.

I really like his car except for the one thing we are discussing here... the white louvers. I just don't think they look right. The two tone paint rocks!Originally posted by 1991 RS 305

I think white louvers on a white car would look pretty sweet. I spray painted an old set i had just to see how they would hold paint, and it looks fine to me. I think it would look suave.
I hate the plastic look of the louvers. Im thining of having mine painted glossy black once i get my car painted, and keep the car white like it is now.
The dull black plastic just doesn't look as good as it would painted in my opinion.
