I have a 91 formula ws6 with the aluminum aero wheels that have the ws6 center caps and the rears are at about 50% tread and the fronts are almost brand new due to the previous owner. I was wondering if they had a front rear offset. I couldn't tell from looking at it. But I need to rotate front to rear but I don't know if the wheels are offset at all. Does anybody know? Thanks for any answers!

 

Pretty sure all of the 16" spoke T/A-GTA and Formula wheels are Front/Rear specific. I just had the tires rotated on my 89 with GTA wheels. It's exhausting trying to explain to a tire shop 3 times how to do it. Rims stay put, tires move. Somehow, it's lost on them though. It's also more expensive since it requires dismount, mount and balance of all 4.

 

these are the wheels I'm talking about. So I really have to have to take off the tires and rotate them and balance them but not move the wheels? I just hope the tire shop won't screw it up or crack the center caps or lug nut covers.

 

Take off the center caps and lug covers at home, no reason at all to leave them on and give a shop a chance to break or lose them. And if the lips of the wheels aren't already screwed up from clip on weights tell them you want adhesive weights and not clip on weights. I refuse to accept clip on weights on any vehicle I own.

 

rims are offset. DO NOT ROTATE TO FRONT. You will destroy inside of rim. It will rub on tie rod.

Yup, all of GMs 16x8 wheels for 3rdgen camaro/firebird have a different front and rear offset.
