Budget Paint Job

I went through all 8 pages on the Budget Paint Job forum, and have a couple questions. It doesn't seem like I can get the Valspar paint anymore, so I think that leaves me the Majic or the Rust-Oleum. They will both be in Massey Ferguson Grey. And then with the Majic, I planned on using the Majic Reducer and Hardener. Any thoughts?

Re: Budget Paint Job

I did a subaru in white last year with rustoleum, reducer, hardener and it came out absolutely awesome. I was selling the car, and not one single person could tell. Even the guy who brought his subaru expert buddy with him (who ended up buying the car) was shocked it was a "single stage" paint. I won't hesitate to do another cheap car in that fashion. I sprayed the paint at 4ish in the afternoon, and in a few hours it was tack free, I put everything back together the following morning, totally cured. I was concerned because the temps had dropped over night (about 15 Celsius) and got damp, but it was fine.

Did you use the tractor and implement paint? or the auto?

Re: Budget Paint Job

Was just normal every day rustoleum. Well, Tremclad since I live in Canada, but the same stuff... It was the oil based stuff, not the water based.
