Thank you for the nominations!
1991 Firebird
Dark Shadow Gray Metallic with the Birds airbrushed on the front bumper and sail panels.
XXR 526 wheels. 18x9 with 275/35 up front and 18x10.5 with 315/30 out back.
360sbc/BW T5
LoTek 1.75" lowering springs
KYB shocks and struts
Founders Performance Strut mounts, Rod ended panhard bar and LCAs.
Hotchkis Strut tower brace
Global West delrin a-arm bushings
3-row aluminum radiator
Still sports the factory brakes and rear end (all soon to be upgraded).
Custom heat extractor vent for the power bulge hood.
I purchased the car in 2004 with 123k on the v6/auto. I still enjoy the car even after 18yrs. Progress on it has been very slow as it got me through college, financial ups and downs, and starting a family.
I have made several long distance trips and moves with it. I loaded it up with all my belongs and left Tampa, FL to Atlanta, GA and then out to San Antonio, TX in 2006. In 2008, I drove it back home to Tampa, FL.
This was the first Fbody car event I ever took it to. Many of the guys I met there I'm still good friends with.
In 2010, I was finally able to get the car repainted and in 2012 I finally bought it a new set of wheels. I also had the ram air hood at the time. I still have it, and may reinstall it on the car again one day.
I nearly sold the car in 2013, but my beautiful wife talked me out of it. And I'm glad she did.
In 2016, after years of running around in the factory v6/auto setup, I told myself I would not fix another thing on it if it broke. I parked the car for a couple years and in 2018 I swapped it out for the 360sbc and went from auto to T5. I picked the setup up from a friend. Don't know the specs on the motor but its fun and reliable. The next couple pictures are during and just after the drivetrain swap. Tires at the time were 305/40s in the rear.
Excuse the mess in the background. This was at a friends house and he had just purchased the house so he was doing some cleaning up.
I finally decided to remove the ram air hood and decided to do something a little different. If I was to change anything else, I'll probably paint the vent gloss black to match the wheels.

As well, my appreciation for giving me a shot at COTM. So this car basically replaced my 84z after i killed it back in 2017.Everything but the dash from the 84 is in the 89 now. Parts list is on my sig.
Day of purchase, 112k on the odo, sat for 12 years by the original owner, purchased by a girl who parked it for 3 years almost. Sold to me on 5-2018.
Getting started.
Test fitting seats and stuff.
Maybe a month after the rebuild.
Current interior.
Most recent pic.
And what motivated me to buy the vert. About 3 weeks after it was painted...last thing it needed too!

Thank you Jim. There is a build thread of sorts, but its based on the 84 before i wrecked it and mostly a post build. Certainly not as interesting as your build. Im not much of a promoter on my car. Not much for pics either, sorry guys.
