There were only 2 Type K Trans am wagons made in 1978 and 1979, the others on the page are kits that you can get to convert your car over. Subaru says they have the first sport utility wagon, I think they need to get there story straight.

I'd rather drive any of those than the big yellow wood-grain sided ugly Mercury Marquis wagon that I was stuck with having to drive to school!! Boy was I cool...

I think the wagon back fits the shape of the thirdgen much better than either the secondgen or 4thgen. There are many times that I've wished I had something like that around that I could quickly swap on when needed.

I would totally drive the 3rdgen ones... In fact, if a company made one of those, I would swap it on when I was going on a trip or something. Road trips kick *** in 3rdgens, its the SPACE they lack that isnt as much fun.

That 4th gen doesn't look that bad at all....... I mean, its doesn't look like a T/A, but it sure as hell isn't a bad looking ca...... thing! Really, I mean it..... I'd drive on of them if I went on alot of trips where I needed stuff. Or had to travel alot! WAIT until that ***** punk pulls up with all his "H0ES" and he gets his *** beat by a Station.... wagon.... thing...... HA! Sitin there thinkin "All the cars in 'The Fast And The Furious' could prolly beat a Stationbird, I suck the mad *****... yo" ***, I'd enjoy seeing a Stationbird Or a Station ummm Am yeah, Station-Am down at the strip! BRING THEM THINGS ON! Lets have a roomy almost sports car......... wait...... haven't I seen one of those before...... YEAH! It was an elcamino

HAHAHA

I've seen both the 2nd and 4th gen models personally. The 2nd gen at Carlisle last year and the 4th gen at a local show. I rather liked the 4th but the 3rdgen looks better from the photo.

It took awhile digging thru all the floppies but this is the 2ndgen

Edit...after looking at the car again, why does it remind me of a futuristic hearse

I was speaking of nosaint's photo. The stationwagon concept is unique and I'm glad the camaro line never suffered the same fate...that doesn't mean some aftermarket company or a shop like roman chariots couldn't come out with something. It's something that takes some getting used to.
