My 86 IROC-Z (pics)
(SORRY FOR THE BIG PICS
)So what do you guys think? I finally got some good pics developed! I just got her in july after some dumbass on a dirtbike decided to total my black 86Z28
! Well anyways, the IROC had something like 36,500 on the odometer when I put her away this winter. The guy I bought it from (the original owner) took REAL good care of it, in fact it never saw RAIN he said until the day I took it home. He wanted a new 2002 SS convertible so his loss is my gain I guess
Oh yeah, my mechanic (former mechanic now!) dented my intake runners, so I got them polished. Other than that she is pretty much stock. I am open for suggestions on things to do next too. I was thinking sub-frames and a strut-tower brace. Thanks for looking!!

Gorgeous car. I'd say get headers and a cat-back first. The car will hold up fine with those mods. Then get suspension. Maybe consider blackouts and nite shade.

Very sharp looking car and finding them in such good shape is getting rarer. A shame about the black IROC but I have to ask, how does a dumbass on a dirtbike total out a car?

Mirsiro427: I bought the IROC for $6,500 but it was between me and three other older guys. (But I was the only one who brought over pics of my other camaro!!!) So I won....
By the way I have admired your car and think it is absolutly awesome!! Way to keep it stock, and low on miles!!:hail:
My1stCamaro92RS: Well I was stopped on a 2way street, the ones with the double yellow in the middle at a stop sign. I was behind a truck who just turned left at the stop sign. So as soon as the rear view of that truck left my windshield, WHAM!!! This kid on a dirt bike in the other lane was going soooooo fast that he had to swirve to miss the truck. And he ended up totaling my car. Mind you I was COMPLETELY stopped! So he was really moving!! This kid left his bike in the middle of my engine compartment and he ended up like 25ft down the road. Lucky he was wearing his helmet or he was done. (I was about to kill him but he was already in alot of pain
) The other insurance company did give me $5000 for it though. It was gonna be like $3500 to repair and that was just the hood, 2 front fenders, grill, grdfx, etc... Not to mention the engine work on the old LG4, My battery was half way into my air cleaner and we couldnt open the hood without cutting it!!

Hey if I were to get a Hotchkis strut tower brace, should I go with the black one or the red one?? I dont know which one would go better with the Dark Red Metallic in the engine compartment?

Wow, he must have been really moving. Sorry to hear that, atleast you got a new one that looks really good.
Not sure about the STB... try to match it as close as possible

The IROC looks sweet Mike.I cant wait till spring to polish the rest of your parts. I have my car in the shop, when ever I'm not at work I'm getting the car preped so I'll be able to paint it.I just have to take my hatch off, and sand the rest of the paint from the door jambs and the hatch area, and i will be able to put some primer on her. Ya need a digital camera Mike they are eaiser than waiting for film to get developed. I have a HP 215 dig camera with 1.3 Mega Pixels,it works good other than battery life. Talk to you later, Michael O

I'm gonna get an ac adaptor for the camera.IT cost 50.00
but I take lots of pictures with the camera so it would be worth it than spending tons of $ on batteries.

I can't remember if I backed up before it crashed or not. so I may not have any.. but my post is really related to the horrible battery life by HP cameras. I have the HP 612, 2.1 Megapixels. it'll suck a set of coppertops dry in 50 pics with no flash and the LCD off.....

I am asking for a digital camera for my birthday, (hinting to my woman right now)
But it would definately be easier that way. Hey Mike O, gonna have to show me some pics of your car when it's done!!
It is gonna be awesome, especially with all the polishing done!
