Never, ever ask "what do you guys think?" if you can't stand a negative answer or two.

No askin "what do you guys think is ok" Its when you get stupid images of stupif photoshop rice things like unforgiven gave or Tommy saying stupid stuff that is whut ticks off peolpe. I have said many times I dont like something but I never refer to it as rice, or ufos or anything like. Opions matter but when you say stuff like that, you are only makin your self look like 3 years old. If you got negative comments just say them dont add the stupid stuff to it.

My brother took some fog lamps (altho this was in his Fiero ), he spray painted them the color he wanted, and wired those babies up, and instead of lighting up underneath, he lit the whole road!

and btw, at least here in Ohio, neons are NOT illegal as long as no bulb is showing...

how much did your undercar neons cost.. i went to the carshop (where i usually get stuff for my car) today and he wanted $350 for em including the install .. is that reasonable??

also is it leagal here in NY?? not that it matters to me.. my car is pretty illegal now anyways, get tickits all the time for my tinted windows, neon lisence plate frame. i always turn off my black lights in time b4 they can see that, i think those are illegal not sure though. cant hide the other stuff though NO POWER WINDOWS or buttons for the frame! oh well.

but if it is illegal ill have to wire it to a button maby along with my lisence plate frame too so i can turn it off b4 the cops see

also how do you know what is legal and what is not legal.. where do you find that out for NY

What good is an opinion if its not what you truly mean?

I think neons under cars look totally gay. If I said "It's cool I just wouldnt do it",then I am not voicing my opinion at all. Just like someone previously stated, if you cant stand a few negative responses, dont ask what people think. Its like you guys are picking a specif group of people to respond to this.

I do respect the time and effort that goes into putting them on, getting the right setup, "doing it right" or whatever. But I don't like the way they look, and if you ask me what I think I will tell you.

If you cant take the heat, get out of the fire.

"if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!"

ive seen tons of cars with neon lights on them. i think they make some cars look better. but on some it doesnt look good. but by far the coolest thing i seen was a guy i know in canada. he spackled white paint in behind his nose cone, then put a black light in there. it looked awesome, lit up really cool. i think those lights make 91rsrider's car look cool.

This entire thread kind-of reminds me of a conversation that would arise in the ladies room. You guys all sound like a bunch of GIRLS arguing about this. You like em, you dont. It's that simple. I for one could go either way. If they are installed correctly I think they look great, but if you can see the tubes or they are installed poorly, i think they look horrible.

For the record:

Jim 86 Bird- Who made you that custom piece to hide your rear neon??? Was that you, or me. Cause if I remember correctly it was me. Just kiddin' but you know who the mastermind behind that wonderful piece of art was.

TFM, the kit costs that much if you buy it from a dealer and have them install it. I opted to do it myself and got the kit for 160 with shippng. In NY they are illegal. They are an equiptment violation, which is a 50 dollar fine if i remember correctly. No points on teh liscence, just a fine from what i was told. To find out things like that just call up the pigs that enjoy pullin us all over so much and ask em. The install to do youself takes about 3-5 hrs, it took me 5, because i had to rip out an old set that was on the car when i bought it. The hardest part is wiring the damn things under your car. Redbird, the bulbs if you buy them from street glow have a special strong plastic on them thats shatter resistant. However one time i was drivin and there was a broken tire on the thruway, i tried to straddle it cuz i couldnt swerver due to a car in the other lane..my aim was off and took one out. Streetglow has a 1 yr warantee tho, so i got a free one. I had to wait a wile cuz they were on backorder, but the car was garaged at that time so i didnt really care.

Well, despite my suggestions, my friend put them on his camaro rs yesterday. They look better in person than the do in the pictures. His are a teal/blue color and his car is teal, so it goes well. But I think they look OK because his car has neons inside, tinted windows (dark!), crazy system, crazy hood, it just looks like a car that neons belong on. I don't think (my opinion here!) that they work on too many cars, they look neat, but whenever I see a topic I think, "will that look good on my car" and no, it will not, but it looks good on the above cars and my friend's. To each his own!
