Shoot an email over to George at GTAuto. I asked the same question, but for the RA-1 hood. I believe the gist of his response was that he was attempting to make a stock (98-02) filter housing work with his version of the RA-2 hood. Give him a holler I'm sure he'll be very helpful, always has been

Ben87GTA had a working ram air box built for his ramair II hood. Last I talked to him though on the boards he was selling his car. I haven't seen him since.

I have the suncoast ram air box on mine.....so does George at GT Auto, it does help the engine breathe ALOT better than the 86 intake system let it breathe but from the positioning, and dimensions of the hood its not really "Ram Air" Its more of an open element intake behind the nostrils. Im sure some ram effect is there, but not alot, its not really sealed up at all. But I did notice a difference.

I think George Told me he didnt notice any difference, but he has an 88 I think.. between my 86 and his 88 didnt pontiac redesign the intake routing a lil. Maybe my engine is just allowed to breathe normal now. I dunno.

I'll try and get a pic soon for ya's

I made my ASCD RA hood functional with a Suncoast airbox, it required some cutting of the hood but it worked out pretty well.

This pic shows the basic problem. You hve to cut an inch or two off of the end and also make it a little bigger with a dremel. Then it fits but its still pretty tight.
