POserS!! i hate em
it has come to my attention that a person in the area that i live in w/ a firebird same style, same color just went to get a paint job on his car. hmmm strangly he went to the same place i went to and came out w/ his car looking exactly like mine! WTF!!
im assuming that the painter told him about this great idea, MY IDEA, (when i got my car painted i printed out a photoshopped drawing of what i wanted on my car and gave it to him. im guessing he kept it for himself and claimed it for his own idea!)i never took it back
I hate posers! argh... when i see it parked in a parking lot maby ill just pull off the stripes (made from the same stuff pinstriping are made of)
what would you guys do in this situation
same thing is happening to my friends w/ a mustang! theyr getting it custom painted w/ a phantom on the hood and some kid went in the shop and saw it and now he is getting his custom painted w/ the same idea. people like that are so gay ARGH

How's the saying go, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. It doesn't give you satisfaction but keep in mind, you did it first...
I have to agree with Rob. People tend to copy what they like. Look at how many IROC, Z28 and RS clones are out there. I also agree that it would be nice if they at least changed a little something so it wasn't exactly the same, but try to take it as a compliment to the styling of your car.

i guess.. but i like mine to stand out more. a bunch of my friends called me and they were all pissed at me saying that i ignored them when they waved to me in my car... i tell them i wasnt in town that day. this guy must think hes really popular w/ the girls haha. oh well. they way u guys put it, im not as pissed about it but still common lets be a little origninal ya know.
Yeah, I hate that, and yet feel complimented at the same time. Weird feeling. There is a blue Camaro in my area that has basically cloned many of the cues off of my car (stripes, supertrapps, wheels). I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard about it from friends. Don't know what I'll do if I actually see it.

I know mines not very original, but it stands out quite alot in my town in comparison to most. Yet, I constantly have people ask about the spacers, the clear corners, where the paint was done at.
Each time I've told that exactly everything. Would I be mad if I saw a car just like mine riding down the road (new paint, with SS wheels). Not really sure. I guess no, but it would make me mad that people I know would think it's me. As it sits right now, I can be spotted quite some ways away by most friends.
People will copy what they like. I saw the clear marker lights Scuffiel (sp? I know) did, he mentioned the prelude lights. I actually misread it wrong, and ended up having my front end cut to make the lights fit. The SS wheels, I saw somewhere on here with them. It was the silver version, but I learned about it here. The black, well I've always liked black cars but that probably came from my brother owning a very nice black 91.
We all pick up stuff from somewhere and copy it sometime. Those that are original, if it catches on, you won't be original very long.

If you see him and get a chance to chat, mention that you might use your car as a getaway car in a Federal Reserve robbery and paint it right after, and look as serious as possible. He might not want to look like you then..
Copy cats suck, but as stated above it is a form of flattery.
I really liked the black accents on Zephyr's car and I want to do the same thing on mine, but then cover them with bright yellow flames. I'm still copying what I like (plus I wanted to do that even before I discovered this website), but I'm adding my own personal touch too. That's okay, I think. People who copy a custom job to the tee suck, though, I agree.

Well rite after I got my car done I had people telling me there is another car around that looked EXACTLY like mine. I was like "No way, this cant be" and one day I was driving around and saw this GTA with the suncoast ram air hood. I was curious so I pulled a U-turn in the high way and followed him home (Not psycho, just to talk to him) well it turns out, its a variation of the maroon GTA color that is shot on the car the worst I have ever seen,,,,very dull and orange peel everywhere, Has the suncoast hood...wait no not suncoast whats the other one ASCD or something. well anyway the car is completely stock except for a flowmaster muffler.
I was VERY relieved once I saw the car in person, but kinda pissed when people confused my car for that.
Im not putting down the GTA or hood or anything, but I just mean the sh**ty paint job and completely stock
