20% or Limo Tint?

Ok... 20% is legal here but we don't have inspections anymore so I wouldn't mind limo tint. The cops around here are kinda bad though. I want it to be almost impossible to see in the car. I had 20% all the way around my s10 and it was nice, couldn't see much of anything but there is a difference between a truck cab and a camaro. What should I go with?

I would say go with the limo tint, it depends on if u do alot of night time driving or not also. What do u mean there is no inspection?

Yep... I do a lot of night driving, and yes the inspection here in Oklahoma was killed back in August 2001  More or less just have to worry about the cops having a bad day and giving you a ticket for "illegal tint".

Hmm I see something slightly wrong with that....Last I remember, it was "innocent until proven guilty" It's not the police's job to prove guilt, only to cite you on it. So lets say you have 5% on the windows, the law is 20% and the cop says "scrape it off"???? How can he PROVE that it's 5%?

So I guess next time anyone gets stopped for speeding, the cop will walk up, demand $500 speeding fine then go on his way? His job is to a) stop you, b) write a ticket or make an arrest, then c) go back and do a ****load of paperwork. Unless the cops in your town ride wear a black robe and ride a big wooden podium around I'd tell him to see me in court.

Cops around here in St. Louis are equipted with meters that go on each side of the glass and detect the tint %. It sucks becouse we can only have 35% too.

i bought my car with dark tint, didnt know what at the time. I was pulled over ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE SELLER'S HOUSE. turned out it was 11% tint and the law here is 50%. I was given a faulty equipment citation and had 3 days to fix it, and show the cops at the station. no charge on that one.

I say go with the 20%. I have 26 on the sides and 16 on the hatch and windshield strip, and think it's adequate for looks as well as function. Anything darker is ridiculous and makes driving at night a pain as well as dangerous.

i have 2 1/2% on my sides and it is really dark at night but i dont mind it. i got pulled over for having a tinted lic. plate frame and then the cop asked me what tint i had on and i said 20% and he told me to take it off cuz it looked darker then that lol. and the only reason he brought up the tint cuz his little butt buddy partner was on the pass. side and tried to shine his light threw and see. well of course your not going to be able to see its dark and your holding a light to glass at an angel and your expecting to see threw it

but anyways the lic plate tint came off and the side 2 1/2% is still on the car. :lala:
