Fourth Gen spoiler install

I have a 90 formula that has no spoiler because the kid that had it before took it off because it warped or soemthing like that. how hard is it to install the 4 gen spoiler on this?

A 4th gen spoiler is nowhere near bolt on. The 2 inner supports will not even touch the deck lid. Look at scauffiel's website and see just how much work is involved. GT Auto accesories sells a bolt-on 4th gen style wing, but IMO it doesnt look very good. I would reccomend the 85-90 wraparound spoiler, the one which came stock on your car. Its the best looking one IMO.

Jeeze Louise. That pic up there IS a third gen WITH a 98 Trans Am spoiler on it. That is NOT the GT Auto spoiler.

These two pedestals in the middle don't come anywhere near the deck lid. They stop about an inch and a half from it. YOU have to fill in the space; be it with fiberglass, bondo, mortar - whatever.

Passenger side middle pedestal from the rear

And from the front.

Drivers side pedestal from the rear.

The two outer pedestals have to be reshaped a little so they sit flat, but it really is no drama.

Now, the GT Auto spoiler is supposed to bolt right up - no muss no fuss.

Any more questions?
Steve

Then I'm hosed. And I get more practice at fiberglassing. Wouldn't be the first time...

Well, yeah, it looks the same to me (except for the brake light); it surely has to be easier to install!

It looks bigger to me Steve's seems to extend out further maybe it's just the angle of the pic. Anyway when I replace mine again (just replaced it about 3years ago and it's cracking again ) I'm calling GT Auto and getting me one. After seeing Nosaints car I was sold plus I'm not a Auto Body man.
