rim paint question
rim paint question
I have the stock rims with the gfx color paint on my Z28. I will be painting my car all black in the springtime and thus getting rid of the gold gfx. I think that the gold rims will look terrible on an all black car so i want to paint them.
Can I just sandblast off the gold paint and put a coat of clear on top of the rim so it is a brushed aluminum rim? My rims are in PERFECT shape so I don't really want to go buy another set just because I don't like the color.
what are my other options as far as getting the brushed aluminum look? thanks in advance

I checked that out but I want to get rid of all of the paint on them. I don't really care for any of the body color rims and thats why I wanted to go with the brushed aluminum look, they don't have to be shiny or anything just look clean

I wouldn't sand blast the aluminum... Use "aircraft" paint stripper, it's easier on the aluminum than sand.
