IROC Fog Lights

I ran a search on this board and I didn't quite get the info I'm looking for, so I decided to post. I wanna put stock IROC or Z28 fog lights on my 90 RS. I like the louvered grill, but I wanna swap that out for an IROC or Z28 grill. First...is there a difference in the fogs used throughout the run of the thirdgen? Second...can someone precisely explain any differences in the grills that accomodate the fog lights? Third...I read somewhere a long time ago that Wal-Mart carries generic fogs that are direct replacements for IROC fogs, is there any truth to this and if so, (and this is a stretch) does anyone have a brand name and/or part number?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm just looking for some precise answers, and the best way to get those I've found is to be a little long-winded. Thanks!

There is no difference that I am aware of in the fog lights. I got a set on my 89 RS. I did how ever have to get the right kind of grill for my car. The light that they were talkin about at walmart, are just the Right size. that is it. You have to figure out your own brakets and put them in.

The Camaro foglights are the same from '85-'92, even the ones on the sport coupe in '86-'87 (except those used a different brace).

The grille you want is the one with the holes. They came with the word "Camaro" on them in silver or gold from '85-'90, and a red bowtie in '91-'92. The ones with the slats came on all '85-'92 Z28's and RS's and the '88 sport coupe without foglamps.

It was my understanding that the foglamps at Walmart that are just like the factory originals are the ones for the Firebird, not the Camaro. The ones they carry that are sized like the Camaro ones are much different in appearance than the originals.

Thats what I figured, they don't look anything near stock. But definately better than many I've seen, and a thousand times better than nothing at all.

Hey DaveV85iroc305TPI, how are those Wal Mart fog lights mounted? A friend of mine put those on his RS by mounting them directly to a Z28 grill insert, but they vibrate badly when driving (think strobe lights!). He wants a better way to mount them or some way to hold them still. I told him to just get factory lights with brackets (EBay), but he's a cheap SOB.
