GTS Blackouts
I've seen tons of cars on the streets with blackouts on the tail lights. I love the look on third gen camaros, and I wanted to put a set on my car, but I've heard some not so good stories about em. A buddy of mine had them stolen from the back of his stang (they were the double sided tape ones), and some people have said that they got distorted in the sun when it gets hot. I live in miami, and it gets pretty hot, so I was worried about throwing my money away if the wouldn't last, or weren't worth it. how many of you guys have em on your cars? Any problems with them? By the way, do they all mount w/ double sided tape?

You can always screw them in. I have seen some using the litle torx type screw we have on the sinde so it's not noticable, and they put 2 on the end closes to the licensce plate, and on on the corner on the side of the car. deters alot of people.

All the ones I've seen that are screwed in and have been on there a long time have nice little rust stains running down them from the screwhole, so be sure to use stainless fasteners.

The Torx screws didn't show much rust, and yes, use stainless steel. Also, a rubber grommet works good to, keeps the screw from actually resting on the light cover.

I did my front turn signals and tail lights on my '74 Camaro with this stuff and within a year both looked like they had nothing on them.

have any of you guys seen either a blackout type cover, or a replacement side marker for third gens? I've seen them for 93 - up but not for our cars. As far as the sparay on tints, how many of you guys have used them recently? It sounds from your posts that they have changed to formula to last longer somewhere along the line.
