Are there any methods or products that will restore the TPI plenum back to looking new again? I have been searching and all I can find is polishing or powder-coating them. I want it to remain stock lQQking without having to polish them. Any help will be appricated.

stainless steel wire brush, and eagle 1 rough cast aluminum wheel cleaner. Pull the plenum off the car, spray it with the wheel cleaner, rinse after 30 seconds or so... if any marks remain use the brush to shine it up.

 

Thanks for you response. I was also told that I could sand blast it with a mild sand. Any response to that?

 

i had mines sandblasted at the machine shop for free since they rebuild my motor the most itll cost u is $20.00 if that. Looked brand new and clean.

Sandblasting, or have it wheelebrated at a foundry. The wheelebrated gives a darker color to the metal. If you've everseen brodix parts then you'll know what I mean.

Have it glass beaded dont have it sand blasted sand blasting will make it look gray.

 

First removing the plenum from the car will give you many more options. If you blast it I agree with above post use glass beads not sand and be aware you will have to thoroughly clean the ports (EGR) to remove every spec of residue.

Myself, if you want to retain the stock look, I would remove it and clean it as stated above. Ordinarily I hate Castrol Super Clean as it will ruin an aluminum clearcoat or buffed aluminum but it would probably be perfect for what you are doing.

Then see how it looks before blasting. Blasting will magnify any imperfections. If you have a nick, it will get bigger, a pit, it will get bigger. It's called "dragging" an imperfection and it is inherent to cast aluminum.

If your plenum is not how you want it after you clean it I would get a good high quality paint from Eastwood Company and kind of fog it on from a distance to add some color and consistency. The plenum doesn't get that hot.
