Converting to T-tops?
Converting to T-tops?
Hi, i am in love with my 91 RS but i want t-tops, i have heard things that the frame can support it and all, but do u think that it would work, also, where do u think that i could get it done at, like a body shop or something? i have money to spend on my car, and NO, i dont want to just buy a t- top car, i have spent alot in my car, thanks
I would tell you to do a search, since this question comes up pretty often, but they all end up telling the originator to just buy a t-top car, and you don't want to hear that.. lol.
It might be hard to find a body shop actually willing to do that for you, but it's possible, and probably costs somewhere in the $3k range to have done right.

I can't suggest trying to cut t-tops into your roof. If you want to do a conversion, buy an entire t-top roof, and put that on. it will be alot easier and cheaper. I was going to do it this way on my 84, but my floorboards are getting so bad, i've decided to just look for a t-top car.

I believe that Kitt does this and the base price is 1500, I think it was the last time I checked. It goes from 1500 all the way up to 7000
The 7000 is the whole kit and koobodle, they put the tops on, do all the body work to your car and paint it. But damn 7000 is a lot.

Seriously if you want T-tops car, you would be better off finding a t-tops car, and selling your current car.
