When i bought my 91 RS in the winter, there was a little rust on the black trim around the back hatch glass, now it has covered it, no more black(well, maby a spot or 2) and all rust, how can i get this off without removing the hatch glass? When i took my car over to my dads house to show him it, he told me to buy a bunch of brillo pads and start scrubbing, would this work>, o, and i more thing, after i get the rust off, what should i do to the trim to keep it from rusting again, thanks

 

i assume your talking about the back hatch glass and not the windshield.

the best way and most proper way is to remove the hatch, there by sanding down all the rust off the metal trim piece and then primer and painting it in any color you want.

if you try to do it on your car your only going to make more hassels for yourself as well as there's no way to properly paint it to look good and not take a chance in getting on things that you don't want.
