That hood was on 82-84 TA's and 87-92 Formula's, some being funtional and some not.

That one was on my 89 Formula--I don't really care for the T/A hoods--so I put it on. I like it!
But I'm getting me a turbo glass hood--and I MIGHT want to sell this one.

Here is my car. My powerbulge hood is functional(only available on the '82-'84 TA's) My car is an '83 TA with '88 gfx. The car is for sale...but I may be parting it out. Make me an offer on the hood.

one more thing, what is the difference between a "functional" and "non-functional" power buldge hood?

The non-functional hood just has the offset blister and the end of it facing the driver has a block-off plate. The air cleaner has a solid lid.
The functional hood has a solenoid and flapper at the aft end of the blister. When all requirements are met (computer stuff - warm engine, WOT, etc) the computer sends a signal to the solenoid and it opens the flapper valve allowing fresh air to enter the blister. The air cleaner has a hole in it for the fresh air to enter so the engine gets a shot of cool air.

Well its not a TA but I have to post it anyway Any body know where you can get that motor that opens and closes the vent. Those things are cool as hell. My Bro had one one his 81Z28 that worked, well untill he put on a 4" cowl.

Redbird ...

I have the whole setup... Air Cleaner Lid, motor, vaccuume lines and all ... I just could never get it to work properly. I just jammed the motor open with a small piece of rubber hose. I now Run an Open Air, so you can have the setup if you want it ... what are they worth???

Let me kno ...

I'm going to get rid of the solenoid and replace it with a small power door lock motor. It'll be switch ativated thru a relay so I can open the ram air flapper whenever *I* want it open (and not have to wait for the computer to open it for me). I've got all the parts for this project, just gotta find the time to install everything.
